Joel did you talk to him about one for the Relay for Life? I don't know if Brenda wants to do a raffle there but that might be a good prize to save unless they can provide another one.

I didn't. But he seemed to be willing to donate to whatever we needed. I can talk to him again this week. The relay isn't 'till April so that gives them a few months before we need another saber.

Heidi, that reminds me. I can pick up the sabers he's donating this week. I just found out today that his shop is just down the street from my house.

Thanks Jay!

Joel, thanks for getting the sabers...I emailed him to ask him to bring them to your shoot but never heard anything back. Did they move the shop again? I can't keep track of those guys!

Sorry I've been in Sedona working the last couple of days so just got your message. Obviously I didn't make it tonight. I will send you an email.

I am making pages for everyone who has signed up for the costume panel. If you send me your info thats where I'll put it. Be prepared to answer any questions from the audience at the end. If you don't send me any info I'll have to put whatever I can find on the slide!

I'm not entirely sure what you'd like to me send you re:info/photos. Do you have an example for us to follow?

I'm planning on taking pictures of each group... Sarlaac's on Friday, Jedi on Saturday, Womprats on Sunday... something we can use for next year's publicity flyers instead of using strangers... Laughing

I can take costume submission photos, too... I'll bring the Nikon.

Can't wait till the con this week. We hope to see everyone from both legions out. We will certainly make sure to stop by your booth and get some raffle tickets. By a twist of fate we ended up having a panel on Sunday if anyone would like to stop by before the big Star Wars panel. We'll have our booth outside Saturday and Sunday.

Here's a breakdown of our schedule this weekend.

Thursday January 22nd (Preview Night):

5:00 P.M. We will be walking around the convention center passing out zombie information pamphlets to prepare everyone for the coming Zombie Walk.

6:00 P.M. Zombie Walk - The Zombie Walk with begin at the main entrance and continue to downtown Mesa. The walk is open to the public as well as con attendees and everyone wishing to participate must bring canned food items. We will be walking with the Zombies to help keep them in line.

10:00 P.M. - 11:30 P.M. Zombie Beauty Pageant - Palo Verde Room I & II. We will be acting as security during the Zombie Beauty Pageant. At the end we will be chaperones for the finalists.

Friday January 23rd

2:30 P.M. - 3:30 P.M. Zombie Brain Eating Contest - Gazebo. We will be acting as judges and hosts of the 1st Zombie Brain Eating Contest. Whoever finishes the brain jello mold wins. There's always room for jello.

Saturday January 24th

10:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M. Arizona Ghostbusters booth - Courtyard. We will be hosting a booth as a fundraiser for our upcoming Phoenix Heart Walk happening on February 28th. We will be offering caricature drawings for a donation of $10.00 and hosting raffles for Ghostbusters prizes. There will also be information pamphlets and a video about our team and work in the community.

6:30 P.M. - 7:30 P.M. 2nd Zombie Brain Eating Contest - Gazebo. We will be hosting and juding the 2nd Zombie Brain Eating Contest.

Sunday January 25th

10:00 A.M. - 3:00 P.M Arizona Ghostbusters Booth - Courtyard. We will be hosting a booth again for donations and prizes

3:30 P.M. - 4:30 P.M. 25 Years of Ghostbustin' Panel - Superstition North Room. We will be hosting a panel celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Ghostbusters franchise by reviewing it's history and showcasing the upcoming games, the new comics, Blu-Ray release and possible 3rd movie. There will be a trivia contest for prizes and a Q & A session.

Weather Update!

Look's like a beautiful weekend for Comicon. There is a 50% chance of rain but they're not expecting any rain on Friday Saturday or Sunday.

Friday - High of 66, low of 46. Partly Cloudy

Saturday - High of 67, low of 45 Partly Cloudy

Sunday - High of 67, low of 45 Partly Couldy

Naturally this could all change. Last year it poured rain on Sunday. But hopefully not this year. Razz

I've asked Granny to bring her costume dummy Smile for the booth again this year. Any ideas on what to display on it?

Could use something spectacular... although she (the dummy) can't wear anything less than about a size 12 or so... depending on fit...

Sounds like we need some tables as well, we have a small one we can bring but if anyone has any larger say 6 or 8 feet tables that you can bring that would be great!

Ok cool, I have 3 more tables at my disposal so I'll bring two the first day. If we determine we need the other I can bring that back Saturday.
