Seeing the pics of the battle padme, I find it odd the way her rib cage is accentuated that way. Anyone else notice that?

Yeah and I noticed, she looks like Eating Disorder Padme or something Razz Even Natalie doesn't look that skinny.

Yes, the formal dress is very pretty....just for fun while I was away, I searched around for some swirly gold fabric or trim. What looks really difficult is the hair piece! I noticed also that they used the Naboo Royal symbol on it, rather than the Senatorial symbol we saw more of in AOTC and ROTS.

That's one of the reasons I like that costume. Doing the tricky hair/heapieces is something I like doing. I love when people come up to me to me and say: How did you get your hair to do that? Or: How is that headpices staying on?

Depending on person asking the question, I will either explain the mechanics of my headpiece and how I worked the fake hair, or I will just smile and say, my handmaiden does my hair for me.

There's a large close-up of Padme' in her formal gown on Flickr - it shows the texture of the gold collar (I don't know why I hadn't noticed her earrings before...)

Well, just got back from a private advance screening - and the formal gown is now on my to-do list. Beautiful and simple, I really like it. Got to see the details better, and the back - looking forward to starting on it Smile

The white 'arena' version features, but the purple/brown outfits weren't, must be in the tv series.

I hope they make at least one action figure of CW Padme'

It's very simple. From what I can remember, it pretty much looks the same all the way around.

So the reason that you barely see Padme in the trailers is that she has very little on screen time the movie. I was at a prescreening this evening and Padme doesn't even show up to at least 1/2 way through and she only has two costumes. She has the swirled formal gown when she comes into Palpatine's office and you can see the front and back of her hair, which tricky, but probably technically possible to do (unlike some of the 2D CW hairdos, hey lets stick big ice cream cones on the sides of her head with no visible means of counter balance, yeah that will work).

Then when she goes to speak to one of the Hutts, she changes into the white battle with hat and cloak. She looses the cloak at one point (how very Padme) and takes off the hat so you can see the hair. Maybe the loss of the cloak is why she ends up with the purple hat an cloak at some later point (on the TV show).

Hahah me too! And I'm FAR from skinny! In fact, when I first saw her walk on screen in that outfit, and saw how they'd accentuated her ribcage I very nearly SQUEALED with delight!! I'm really tempted to do the costume for the simple fact that I have a ribcage like that. Though I'll need to slim my tummy down slightly.

I must say that now I have had a proper look at the senatorial dress I kinda like it. Not too crazy about the hairdo, but it's kinda a cool costume. Wink

But you can't say Padmé has a large role in this.
