You sure do like your guantlets. Wink

Looking forward to seeing the final product, especially next time you're in Ohio for an event.

Qu Rahn - Rahm Kota comparison...

With overhead ceiling lighting and no flash:

With overhead ceiling lighting and flash:

The Qu Rahn saber is driven at 1000mA, the Kota saber at 700mA. UltraBlade in the Rahn, Do-Clo custom blade in the Kota.

I have never seen this character before. From a computer game, you say?
The controls on the chest armor in the concept sketch look just like those on a Snowtrooper or General Veers. The gauntlet reminds me a whole lot of Boba Fetts.

Nice katana/nodachi weave handle there mate!
Looks superb!

Would love a saber with a handle like that, maybe a Qui Gon looking type.

Loving the samurai feel!

Yeah I'm very happy with how it turned out. I might have scaled it about inch and a half longer and a bit fatter if I were doing it again. Supposed to run from above the shoulder to about 4" above the belt...

...but proportionally it looks OK. Very light weight. Probably switch to a thin-wall blade before I troop with it, just to improve the balance and make it easier to swing.

One thing i REALLY like...

I finally got a saber with a switch that is easily accessible from the main (right) hand. Don said he had to cutout part of the heatsink to fit the switch.

Genious! Cool

Thanks! I don't know the pattern name, but it's a zig-zag fold-over. I couldn't tie off the tsuka-ito so I just epoxied the ends. The seam is covered by the brown suede wrap. Razz

Nicely done!

Have you tried it on a white background or even cream?

Would look a lot more samurai looking or even a light grey?

WOW, I LOVE the leather wrap on the lightsaber.... whew, lightsabers and leather... I shouldn't go there.... Razz

How wide of a leather strip did you use to wrap the handle? It gives me an idea for my old sink-pipe hilt that's languishing in the bottom of a box....
