Yeah, there's a whole forum for us over on the MWB boards. I know for COSI, Matt organized a "pilot day" where everyone with orange was encouraged to wear it on that day... THIS was my first "mission" with the squadron!!! One of the best times I've ever had at a SW event.

Krash those pictures rock!!! I can't wait to finish this costume! But like I mentioned on the MWB forum, lack of funds at the moment is putting this project on hold for a bit. When am I gonna win the lottery!? Rolling Eyes

Good luck Nash from the pilots of the 1138th Krayt Squadron in the UK - looking forward to seeing you go Orange!

Lets blow the dust off this old thread lol

After close to a year of procrastinating, and working on other costumes, I'm going to shoot to finish this costume for Wizard World Chicago (and then Dragon*Con)! I don't have any other expensive new costume ideas for 2009. So now, the updates!...

I ordered my suit and vest from CostumeBase, sometime last spring or summer! It fit great then...but I've put on some unwanted weight, and I can't sit in the suit now lol. So I'm on a quest to shed some pounds, and squeeze my butt into this suit without busting seams! Very Happy

These pictures are from yesterday...

I still need to think of new colors and design for the helmet.

I ordered a chest box kit from TK560, and I need to work on that also.

Looks great! You've got the hard parts done. Once the chestbox is finished, it's smooth sailing from there. Smile

Don't feel bad, I've been working on my X-Wing costume for.....oh.........
5 years? Embarassed I'm hoping to actually get it finished this year! Rolling Eyes

Your chest box knob in that kit is cast from a mold of my Elvis Trooper knob, with his permission, of course.
Cool

Hey there. I don't know if you will find this helpful or not, but I've got a similar thread going over at alderaan base about my x-wing uniform thread. I've got the same flightsuit and vest as you, and have already started modifying it.

http://www.alderaanbase.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=1686

Best of luck, and I look forward to seeing your progress.

Here's a few tips for the chest box that I picked up:
Pinstripes: Find a store that sells model radio-controlled airplanes and cars, and get yourself a roll of white pinstriping tape.
That is sooo much easier to apply than to paint them.
Hose: Make the hole in the box just a little bit smaller than the diameter of the hose. Then you won't need anything extra on the inside to hold it.

@ rebel_pilot_nash

*jumps in his chair*
Holy ****! I KNOW YOU! I used to go to the Power Ranger costuming board. I made the LSR badges and then lost the link and could never find it again. Any chance you could give me the address?

Looks good so far. Welcome aboard the star wars circles and keep up the good work!
