|
|
|
This question has been posed before, but I'm unable to find a clear answer. Are the Rey high boots, from PoZu, allowed for Generic Jedi? NOT the ones for the TFA outfit, Resistance outfit, or TROS outfit. The only ones in question are the tall ones worn with the Hero outfit (TLJ throne room scene)
Visual-
Other face character boots such as Anakin, Obi-Wan, and Qui-Gon are acceptable options for Generic Jedi.
There may have been some approvals with these boots in the past, but obviously standards are always evolving.
For future approvals, is this an option available for prospective Generic Jedi?
For reference- the Generic Jedi Standard standard (As of 12-18-2020) -
http://newsite.rebellegion.com/jedi-costume-standards-generic/
" Boots:
Brown or Black Boots – Leather or leather-like (no rubber boots).
a. Mid-calf, but not above the knee. (motorcycle boots, or “engineer” boots, ~ 14″) Extentions like seen in the movie are allowed).
b. No visible laces or outside zippers. When necessary, inside zippers are permitted.
c. Straps & shin-spats are allowed but not required (though can be used to cover laces and zippers).
d. Boots and belts should match (be of a complimentary color), i.e., black and black or brown and brown. No black/brown combinations.
e. Buckles are permitted, but should complement the boot and not detract from the overall look of the Jedi costume.
f. Low-heeled 1 – 1 1/2 inches maximum. Spike heels are not permitted.
g. Mini-Chaps (not above the knee) are allowed."

I'd argue no, I'm afraid. Rey's boots are very much a signature part of her costume and very distinct in style.
The other face character boots are less distinct and also part of the costumes that the generic Jedi is based on.

No. Laces are a no go on generic jedi. _________________

The answer on this one has unfortunately been: it varies by judge. Some judges have been approving them, even in the recent past. Others have never approved them. Under the previous LMO, they were approved on generic Jedi more often than not, but no universal judgement on this has been issued by the current team. _________________ Caitlin Jacques (she/her/hers)

Not a judge, but I think they're fine. Just my opinion, though. _________________ It matters which side we choose. Even if there will never be more light than darkness... For every life we touch, it matters. I don't turn toward the light because it means some day I'll win some sort of cosmic game. I turn toward it because it is the light.
