That's pretty cool. I like the rising sun feel to the artwork.

Yes, I always liked how he put part of his heritage into his helmet design. Smile

Hello everyone! I'm new here, but have been on the RPF for years. NICE helmet work by everyone here!!
When I figured I wanted to make a Rebel pilot outfit I went and bought a Wakal helmet kit. I really couldn't pick a screen accurate helmet since I really like them all! So I figured I'd create my own using the style and sensibilities of the ANH helmets from Red and Gold Squad.
If you have seen my pics already, my apologies for being repetitive. If not, here you go:

Hope you all like them! The posted fellow Rebel helmets before mine ROCK!!! Cool

my DI/W in progress picture from several years ago lol

it has black lines around some of the colors now and a little more weathering.

Its probably about to have the whole insides repadded an I may buy a smaller RA helmet. Who else is making helmets now a days anyway?

Crystal - right now RA and DI/W are the top two. We're trying to line up additional suppliers though.

Love the bird/bolt logo BTW!

Hi Everyone!

I'm very new here. I've been looking around for a while and admiring all the great work done by all of you!

I'm in the process of completing my Porkins X-wing pilot costume which I hope to submit for approval soon. Today, I received my RA Porkins helmet -
(Large pics so give them time to load please)

It looks really, really cool. I'll need to make some modifications to it (the foam inserts are a bit thick for a start), but even at this early stage, I'm really happy with it. Very Happy

This is why I named my pilot "Token."

Seriously, next to nobody does this helmet. It's the Rebel Standard! :p

My RA helmet is not so good: the dumb hand-painting left too many strokes and unceriain borders. But in photo, if you don't look too closely, may do, for now.
- - -
The design borned with the idea of the tricolor of italian flag, and the Rebel's bird crisscrossed half white, half green, checkered.
But the final design went off a bit "japanese" style: not intentional, but not bad.
I just added my nickname in aurabesh on sides. I prefer not to overdo paintings on sides and back, I don't like too much overcrowded helmets.

Next improvement, something INSIDE: watching of photos from Jedi con, the empty helmet under the arm is so ugly.

I'm watching from some ear pads, .99$ a pair on the net...

I like the design! You can not tell it was hand-painted unless you look close.
