Has anyone ever done a Life Day Wookie?

I am fully aware that many of you may haye the holiday special.
I like it. Saw it yesterday again and I am going to go for that long, red robes costume.
Has it been done before?
Is it approvable?

Hey there,

It has never come up to my knowledge, but done right, I think I’d approve it. I’d be nervous about a robe with stilts myself. What did you have in mind?

Not sure yet. I am 1.8 m (6 ft tall), need quite a few inches to do Chewie BUT there is a wide range of wookie sizes at Life’s Day ceremony so I will not go for more than 2 m (and I have shoes high enough to reach that height.
Remeber, a will not go for Chewie but for a “generic” wookie (maybe a teen size one?)

It's on my Wookiee bucket list and would be a fun convention costume, not to mention much cooler. I've got a blank, empty snow globe, some fairie lights, and some little aquarium plastic bubbles to make the life day globe.

I bought a red snuggie but it was really low quality. At some point I'll do the robe.

I logged in to ask this same exact question 🙂

I think it would have 4 main components.

1. Wookie head/mask. Professional quality, not a costume mask
2. Red robe. Seems to hang to roughly 1/2 inches from the ground. Sleeves appear to be of similar length. Mild pleating where the sleeves join?
3. Life Day Globe. Clear globe with ‘fairy’ lights inside?
4. Wookie feet. In the bigger picture, wookie toes can be seen poking out.

I think that’s about it?

I’m personally legally quadriplegic, and use an electric wheelchair. I already have the head and feet, as well as the red fabric 🙂

We have a Holiday Special group here in MN....we have a small theater that shows the Holiday Special every year during a Toys 4 Tots drive. Our members will go up on stage and play along when their character is on screen. All that said, we have an approved Chewy that did the robes, plus some non-approved wookies to form that final group section. No idea if it's approvable, but I know some are (our jugglers and our Ackmena are approved).
