Are they a "stay away too much effort/cost to modify for approval" or "good start"?

overall I think they look pretty good... but it would all depend on how they fit, on YOU.

for example, from the looks of this mannequin, the tunic looks way too short for approval.
it doesn't look like it would be long enough to cover the mannequin's butt.

I think, if THIS particular mannequin had submitted THIS particular costume, then it would NOT be approved...

(and it would be near-impossible to modify it, in order to make the tunic 'longer' in the torso)

...but then again, if this same costume were worn by a much shorter person, with a different body-type, and a much smaller torso, then who knows? it might pass OK.

so in the end I think you would really need to try it on first, to make certain that the tunic is long enough, on YOU.
otherwise you might end up wasting your money.



same with the robe. I think overall, the outer robe looks very good....
...but to my eye, they seem to be a little on the short side.

I think for SOME costumers, this might be a great buy.
but for most of us, the tunic would be way too short in the torso and the robe would be way too short in length.
in that case, it would be "too much effort/cost to modify for approval" , as you say.

for those reasons, this is not something that I would want to buy from the internet.
I think anyone considering these sets should definitely try it on first, in person,
just to make certain that it fits, on YOU.

Someone in Sunrider Base tested this, actually- assuming a good fit, which is essential, he was able to get the costume approved with (I believe) a few modifications:



I've handled them in person and the fabric quality is okay. I think the point about height is a good one; this tunic will be more effective on someone who isn't particularly tall. If you want a detailed account of the costume and what it was like getting it approved (and he had the advantage of being able to try it on at the park before buying it), I'd shoot LawDoug a PM, I'm sure he'd be happy to share.

Tunic and belt are good as long as they fit appropriately. I have seen them approved on several occasions. The cloaks tend to be a bit short. So if you aren't counting on the cloak to pass approval you should be good.
