2020-21 Squad Leader Elections

Nominations for the 2020-2021 Knightfall Battalion Squad Leader can now be made and are open for the next 7 days.

Nominations must be from active members only. A member may nominate themselves and that will require a second nomination. Standing officers must post their desire to seek another term or decline to seek another term (no response is considered a decline). No second is required for standing officers.

NOTE: The timeline for election procedures are based on the time zone the responsible moderator lives in.....as all members of the COG team, Legion Command, and LAC that will be handling these processes are not in one time zone....please be patient if there is a few hour difference in postings due to time zones.

- Nominations will begin at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, 14 September 2020 and run for 7 days for all the positions mentioned concluding at 11:59 p.m. on 20 September 2020.

- After nominations conclude, Q&A will commence for all positions that have more than one candidate starting at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, 21 September 2020 and running for 7 days concluding at 11:59 p.m. on 27 September 2020, with 2 additional days allowed after closing for candidates to complete their answers concluding at 11:59 p.m. on 29 September 2020.

- After Q&A concludes, voting for all positions will commence at 12:01 a.m. on 28 September 2020 and run for 7 days concluding at 11:59 p.m. on 4 October 2020.

The charter does state that the new administration will take over the Monday following elections. However, with voting ending on Sunday the 4th and Monday the 5th is the next day, there will not be enough time to review and validate all voting polls over one night. With that in mind, the potential new administration (pending validation) will take over on Monday, 12 October 2020. The COG and his assistants will validate the results of all elections as soon as possible following voting and post the official results in all voting threads.

- If no nominations occur the current officers shall continue in office.

NOTE: Per Rebel Legion policy, there is NO campaigning of any kind allowed for candidate running for ANY elected position during elections. This includes, but is not limited to displaying banners, mass emails, using RL or RL sponsored forums or sites (to include all social media) to send or display messages or postings to vote for a specific candidate. Anyone suspected/caught doing this will be subject to investigation and possible disciplinary action if substantiated and the candidate they were campaigning for will become ineligible to run for office and be removed from the elections for this cycle regardless if the candidate had knowledge of the activity or not.


Also, all phases of the election cycle (nominations, Q&A and voting) must take place ONLY here on the main RL forums. No auxiliary base/outpost or RL related websites or social media pages will be used for these purposes.

Member behavior and activity during all phases of elections are subject to the RL Code of Conduct and subject to moderation and/or removal by the election moderation team if posts violate established election rules or charter. Please keep all elections professional, civil and a positive experience for all our members.
