Legion Members,
The final revision/draft of the proposed new RL charter has been completed by the Charter Review Committee. It is now ready for acceptance/denial voting by the legion membership.

Voting will be open for 2 weeks (14 days) after being posted.

NOTE: This thread is for VOTING ONLY. No further discussions on content are allowed. The new charter is passed by simple majority/plurality vote of the membership with no minimums or percents required. If the new charter does not pass, it may not be voted on again until a substantial change to the text is made.. Any posts about content will be removed by the COG or the LXO. The only post allowed is "voted" if you so desire.

We want to thank everyone who participated in the charter revision discussions in July. The Charter Review Committee (CRC) has reviewed all of your comments and made related changes to the draft, which we present to you now for voting.

As before, the mandate of the CRC was only to make the "amendment" of reorganizing the charter around the new SOP structure, clarifying points of confusing, eliminating contradictions, and reducing redundancy. The following changes were made:

-Text was fixed for flow, typos, grammar, and formatting
-Clarified places with confusing wording, especially where translatability was an issue
-Added a process for transparency in SOP amendments
-Clarified the requirement to "Respect Military and First Responders" to a more general "Respecting Workers in Real Uniforms" to prevent politicising of the charter to local contexts
-Fixing election time-zone issues to reflect that elections are run in the time zone of the person administering each individual thread.
-Moved sections on prohibited behavior from Article II: Membership to Article VII: Misconduct.
-Linked the RL style guide, which has now been made public to RL members in the Rebel Briefing forum.
-Clarified in SOP 1 that inactive members may be reinstated by attending any of the activities listed in Article II, at the discretion of their BCO/OCO, not just a costumed troop.
-Because "promotional materials" and "public relations materials" were used interchangeably in the Charter, creating confusing, the terminology was standardized to "public relations (PR) material."
