Pottery Barn Kids is sponsoring an event to promote their SW merchandise and would like members of the 501st, RL, and TJA to help out. PBK wants two members from the 501st (one Vader, one TK) plus 1RL member and 1 Jedi (TJA). They have set a limit of 4 costumers.

The first event is a high priority event at Lennox Square in Atlanta. I'll be making the trip up there as they have requested X-wing pilots (finally, some love for the orange!). I still need a Jedi. It would be best if we could get a TJA member, but failing that, then any member with an approved Jedi costume is welcome. Or, if we cannot get a Jedi, then any OT costume is ok.

There are 2 other stores in the Atlanta area that there may be events at in September. It all depends on whether the 501st can supply a Vader.

So post if you are interested in doing the event on Aug 23rd.

Beth

It's possible that I can do this... I need to check on something. I am also a member of TJA.

However, they might prefer a male Jedi, which I can understand.

Do you know the hours?

Thanks for the response Karyn. I don't think they care whether the Jedi is male or female. The date has been postponed though and moved to September. So I'll post again when I get an updated schedule.

I've been over to the TJA Forum (Southern Order) and the "new and improved" date for Lenox Square is apparently September 13th.

Actually that's probably better for everyone since it won't be the w/e before D*C! (Plus we'll have time to clean our costumes after D*C! Laughing)

I am available to help that day or at the other locations on later dates and also posted at TJA. Very Happy

They're doing advance "tickets"! Surprised

This is going to be a fun event. Very Happy And I'm delighted to know about the contribution to St. Jude's.

I have photos! These pictures are courtesy of Darrell Phillips alias "MADOG" alias RC-6234 of the GA 501st:

http://s418.photobucket.com/albums/pp270/RC-6234/Pottery%20Barn%20Kids%2008-13-08/?start=0

Looking back at these, it brings back how much fun we had... and how fast paced it was! We really didn't have time for action posing or "horsing around"... no Order 66, no saber sparring... we were non-stop bring-the kids-in-and-take-two-pictures, some autographing, etc. for almost the full two hours.

This was the line:

And a couple of favorite shots:

"Chicks" of all ages dig Star Wars: Smile

This little guy was TOO cute!

Another little kid was shrieking in fear and his Mom said, "But you love Darth Vader" and I thought yeah, but the kid wasn't expecting him to be so big and "real"! LOL

Daphne and I had a great time, and I understand we've been "unofficially" (i.e., details to be worked out) invited back in November when the store moves to a larger location. Smile
