Hi there!

I have found a couple engineer boot options that fit my budget but I find either the heel is a bit too high ( 2- 3") or the shaft of the boot is too high (13 3/4"-14") or too low (9"). I have seen mixed things about approvable boot height. One guide says 11-13 inches max another said no more than 15" with the pants bloused over the top. I don't want to buy something I can't use. Any insight as the what is the approvable range for boot height?

I appreciate the help!

This is a difficult question to answer. The length of the boot shaft depends on the length of your lower leg. What works for one does not work for others. I know that people have been approved with pants bloused over high jackboots. We would have to see you in the boots to be able to tell if it would work for you. The same thing goes for the heel. It all depends on how it looks on you. I am sorry that I cannot give you a definitive answer.
