I made two versions of my 2nd transponder out of cardboard, polystyrol, which is similar to Sintra, and Worbla. My husband painted them for me. I am not a hundred percent happy with them. I still have some Worbla left so I am going to make a 3rd version. Perhaps that one will look more the way I imagined it.

I searched Thingiverse for some files of Jyn Erso's transponder that she wheres with her poncho but I did not find any. I also look on eBay and Etsy but all the suppliers are from the USA or Canada which would make shipping too expensive.

Versions 1:

Version 2:

Here are links to 3D printed versions that are way too expensive for my taste when you combine the purchase price and the shipping.

Another stinky canvas bag just arrived. I am going to leave this Yugoslavian mess kit olive green because I am following the references for my second marine.

I have been doing some research on Rogue One DH-17 blaster kits. I found one source in the Netherlands that makes a nice Bistan blaster but it is very expensive. You can also add a shoulder stock but it is the wrong type.
https://www.etsy.com/de/listing/571337159/r1-dh-17-rebel-blaster?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=Rogue+One+DH-17&ref=sr_gallery-1-2&organic_search_click=1

The second source for the Bistan blaster is in the Russian Federation. It is a nice 3D printed kit that is affordable unfortunately I need the one with a shoulder stock.

The third source, which is located in the UK, makes a nice TLJ DH-17 blaster rifle kit. The blaster is made from resin and weighs about 1,5kg. It can easily be transformed into the Rogue One version as Bastion has shown us. I have seen newer photos on Facebook with an added 3D-printed tactical flashlight.

Did some more work on my first cap. I added bias tape to the front shields, sewed the neck shield to the crown, and added the chin closure. I hope to finish it tomorrow morning. I just took a photo with my husband's finished cap to show how much I still have left to do.

I finished the cap this morning. I am only posting this photo right now because I cannot stand the look of the cap without goggles. It just looks wrong to me. I am going to take more photos as soon as I have the correct goggles.

I was able to order Chinese SKS/Vietcong/Korean pouches very cheaply from my local army supply store. There are two versions of these chest rigs. One version has toggle buttons like the one I ordered. The other version has ties like the ones used in Rogue One. Private Basteren is one of the Scarif Marines who wears it. The ones with the ties are very rare. I was only able to find a few on Ebay.com that were located in the US. Shipping from the US to Germany is too expensive, so I went with the version with the toggle buttons. That version is more common in European and German army stores. You can also order them from China via eBay.

These are the pouches I plan on using for my first (generic) Scarif Marine with the navy blue cap, tan or brown vest, khaki jacket with tan blood stripes and navy blue BDU pants.

My Greek pouch arrived today. Now I have enough pouches to replicate almost any combination seen on screen.

I cut out fabric pieces for two washed-out navy blue caps. It was a little tricky because my husband works in a foundry. There are often sparks that burn holes in his work clothing. I had to avoid them when cutting the fabric.

I had a little setback today for my first Scarif Marine. The Tru-Spec BDU jacket is too large and looks awful on me when I wear it with the Chinese pouches. I also do not like the look of the blood stripes because the BDU jacket's shoulder seam makes them look off the center. I have about 2,5m x 1,5m of brown canvas laying around that I bought for another project that I never finished. I think I am going to apply what I learned when sewing the other two jackets and make one from scratch. I am going to use the Burda 3962 pattern as a starting point for my jacket. I will have to adjust a little bit to my size and add an action pleat because I also want to use it for another Yavin Operation Trooper/Officer if I invest the time to make it.

I decided to make some color changes for my generic Scarif Marine because of the materials that I already have. I am going to make a jacket from scratch out of the brown canvas that I have but I will only use it for my second Yavin Operations Trooper/officer because I do not want to weather it too much or make it dirty. The canvas fabric is to nice and the jacket itself is too much work because of the action back pleat and the pockets to do that with it. For my Scarif Marine, I am going on a different route. My husband gave me a third navy blue work shirt. This one is still new but he cannot use it at work anymore because his employer switched to a different kind of work outfit. I am going to make a jacket similar to Private Basteren’s jacket. I still have a little bit of tan fabric left from my female desert trooper that I am also going to use for the yoke, collar and waistband. I am going to use the same type of pouches so I thought it was fitting. I will have to keep the vest closed at all times because I will not be able to hide all the buttonholes any other way. There is only one thing that makes me a little crazy. In some photos and screencaps, his sleeve stripes look blue-gray but in others, they look like tan stripes that are very dirty, which makes the most sense to me because of the other contrasting elements and that he is in the middle of a battle. So I decided to go with tan since I already have the material for them here. I do not know yet, which color cap (khaki or navy), vest (brown or tan), or BDU pants (navy, coyote, or khaki) I am going to use with it. I am going to decide that when everything is finished. I like the whole mix and match thing that is going on with the Scarif Marines.

Yavin Operation Troopers with the same type of jacket

Yavin Operation Officer with the same type of jacket

I worked on the blue jacket this morning. It looks closer to the size of my Yavin Operation Trooper jacket than the khaki one.

There are a couple of setbacks in this project. My friend's 3D printer is out of order and needs some repairs because of that I will have to wait longer for the parts. Also, I have been having a lot of pain in my right hand and wrist lately which forces me to do less work than I would like to and nothing too complicated. I cannot make the blue caps or the black imperial officer cap for my friend to trade him for the 3D printed parts. The only thing I have been able to sew is the first set of stripes for the blue-tan jacket.

The personal transmitter for my 2nd costume has arrived. It looks a lot better than my self-made one. www.3d-props.com has a special offer for R1 Compared Rebel communicator DIY kit. I do not need the large part for an open-back vest at the moment but I might in the near future and it was almost half the regular price so the deal was too good to let it pass by. I still have to glue the pieces together and paint them.

I finished the blue jacket for my generic Scarif Marine today. Everything that will be visible should look correct, anything that is missing will be hidden by the closed flak vest. I really like the look of the jacket. I might make one with the pockets and action back pleat for a Yavin Operation Trooper/Officer at a later time.

I did some work on my tan M69 flak vest today. Unfortunately, I did not get as much done as I wanted. I had to do most of the work with my left hand because I been having issues with my right hand. I think the metal plate on my radius is irritating the tendons of my thumb and index finger. I have a doctor's appointment on Monday.

I am going to use the tan vest for both of my Scarif Marines. I think I will go mostly blue on the generic one. Blue/tan jacket, tan vest, tan roll pin buckle PLCE belt, blue pants, and a blue cap with a A-300 rifle because I am going to replicate the all khaki/tan Pathfinder and DH-17 with shoulder stock from Rogue One for my second costume. Since I am going with the blue/tan jacket that Pvt Basteren is wearing I am also using the Chinese pouches for my first costume. For my second costume, I am using the Yoguslavian mess kit and the Danish pouch and tan PLCE belt the rebel belt buckle as seen in the movie.

I did some work on the flak vest yesterday and today. I was able to finish most of the outside. Only the 2cm webbing on the right shoulder is still missing. I am waiting for delivery. It should have come yesterday. I hope it will come tomorrow. As soon as it comes, I will at it, the inner layer, the padding, and the collar.

Here are some color comparisons. The first photo is my Yavin Operation Trooper/Officer's jacket with my tan vest. The second photo is my navy blue/tan jacket with the missing pockets and the tan vest. I will keep the vest closed when I use this jacket. The pants in the fourth photo are my khaki-colored Tru-Spec BDU pants.

I finished my tan flak vest today. I did a small test fit session. I still need the hat radio, goggles as well as the DH-17 with a shoulder stock for tan/khaki pathfinder. I already have the second transponder but I have not glued and painted it yet. I think I am going to use the khaki pants and probably the blue cap, which is not finished yet, with the blue jacket. My husband does not like the olive green of the Chinese pouches. We are probably going to de or paint them a little more brown similar to Pvt Basteren's pouches.
