|

I'm wanting a new Legion approved costume to troop in this May 4th. And this has always been my favorite Leia costume. So wanted to share my progress here to document the build and get feedback and suggestions on things. I've been following other threads and the CRL very closely. As you can see, the first thing I tackled was the bodice.
I am playing around with the sleeves and pill-shaped padded patches rigjt now. The sleeves in the picture is just a test sleeve pinned in place to make sure I am getting everything the right size and length.
I'm 4'10" so a bit shorter then Carrie. So I am trying hard to make sure to still get all the proportions right while scaling everything down to fit me.
I would like to ask how would you suggest attaching the wrist comm to the quilted patch? I saw others using rare earth magnets so I was thinking of taking that route, as i would like to eventually do the Bespin escape version as well. |

Your progress is looking great. Magnets can definitely be used to keeping things temporarily in place for many costumes, and others are doing so with great success. _________________

Thank you for the link! I just ordered them. Today I 3D printed the wrist comm. It came out great. I will be sanding and filling in any imperfections in it while I'm waiting for the magnets to arrive.

I finished the boots today. I feel dumb because I didn't get any progress pics. But I had a pair of gray boots as the base that I cut into a shorter boot while leaving a tongue flap. I found some gray leather that was a close match and used it for the open boot shafts that then made some gray trim/piping to go around it. The straps are suede leather and close with velcro one side. I hope the straps are dark enough. I used contact cement to attach the boot shaft to the base boot.
I did a full suit up minus the hair and makeup.
