Question on posting pictures in WIP

So I'm totally new to all of this and still working on figuring out how all of this works. I just started a WIP for my generic Jedi and I want to add pictures to my post, but I don't know how. I know I need some image hosting site, but there are so many I have no idea which one to use. I've seen several people on here use photobucket and imgur. Am I able to use googlephotos? Also, when embedding a picture into a post will the photo appear in the preview if the link worked or will it just appear with the IMG link until it's actually posted?

A few things. Yes, a host is needed. of those two I'd recommend imgur.

Google links don't typically work. In order to display it needs to start with http:// or https:// and end with .jpg or .png. and be within the img tag with a closing tag at the end.

If it has those things it will be code until posted then will show the image.
