To commemorate ANOVOS cancelling their Jyn poncho today, I'm starting a costume standard draft. We'll get you resources. You'll still have awesome rain gear. And it will actually be waterproof!

Concho - Coated Cotton, badge detail

Goggles - Vintage Cebe 15 or similar. The goggles are white. The screen accurate goggles have two silver snaps that are close together on the nose. The glasses have indents on either side that turn in, and two black plastic pieces on top. The frames are weathered gray (it is silver on the Eadu toys) with scratching on the lenses. Lenses are dark, not clear and not amber. Goggles are attached by leather tabs with two lines of stitching on each tab, also weathered, and an elastic all around them, replacing the brand’s elastic.

They are connected to a set of metal clips (surplus German dagger clips or similar) on strips of leather or leather like material

Cap - Cotton Drill, WWII German M43 Field Cap with Endor-like quilting at the top and flashlight greeblie

Bandolier and bag - has a set of two clips (same as the ones used for the goggles) connected to a metal o ring at the center, and the tonfa hangs off a third near the bag.

Breathing mask - Similar model to ESB and TFA on the Falcon

(optional) Blaster - E11 (stormtrooper - for best accuracy, purchase secondhand from 501st approved TK Wink)

Jacket, pants, boots, gloves, belt, pocket comm: Same as Scarif/Jedha Jyn. Pocket comm is attached to bandolier

I have been stuck on just how to quantify how to describe that damned poncho XD But, I'm avoiding all other sewing and pattern info until I start it after Dragon*Con, so I'm no help for the moment I'm afraid.

I haven't started harvesting my accessories, like the the mask so far, but we should note that the mask itself is connected to a set of German Dagger clips.

reference:

I would say that they are on a strip piece of leather or leather like material? It doesn't have the distinct webbing pattern but I'm having trouble telling.

The bandolier also has a set of two connected to a metal o ring at the center, and the tonfa hangs off a third near the bag.

Wait, I don't think I caught that. She has her tonfa on Eadu and moved it from her holster to the bag? That's neat!

Just started diving into this costume heavily this last week. That bandolier is... tough to explain. Here's my attempt. Suggestions welcome. Smile

-Bandolier (approx 2-2.5 inch wide) starts on right shoulder and ends behind/near bag on left hip. Bandolier may be a continuous piece with a back strap, like a traditional bandolier, or have hidden connections at start and end points.
-The first piece of the bandolier holds (5) jacket grenades. It looks to be a shotgun shell holder.
-A 1-inch wide piece of cotton webbing connects the jacket grenades holster to the german dagger clip. This webbing also has an offshoot piece of webbing that holds Jyn's com link, and the webbing opens/closes with a snap.
-Then it's what we have listed already, Dagger clip, o ring, dagger clip.
-A longer piece of webbing, connected to another piece of webbing through some sort of slider clip.
-This third piece of webbing has the tonfa offshoot.
-All bandolier items are in the military green variety and are weathered to the same color.
-Exact lengths and measurements of webbing will depend on the wearer.

I'll take a stab at describing the poncho... be kind and make as many suggestions as needed. Laughing

Based on other standards I've seen, i don't know how much we want to quantify measurements since I think it depends on the wearer, but I do have them that I based off of the Hot Toys poncho.

FRONT
-Poncho has kimono-styled front, wrapping right over left with a hidden fastener on the left hip.
-Front poncho length comes to mid-thigh.
-All topstitching is in a thick, light orange/burnished yellow/gold thread.
-There is a mock belt sewn onto the right poncho flap, sitting on the costumer's natural waist.
-Width of mock belt is around 6cm and has 7 rows of topstitching.
-There thick trim on the right poncho flap, beginning beneath the hood and ending just above the mock topstitched belt.
-Trim has 5 topstitching lines and is a similar width as the mock belt.
-Poncho has a rectangular pocket beginning just beneath the right shoulder, running parallel with the band. Pocket is topstitched.
-There is a smaller pocket on the left shoulder, containing a silver badge. (?) Smaller pocket is also topstitched.
-Beneath the belt, front of poncho has two large decorative rectangles in same thread as topstitching.
-Bottom center of poncho front has the reverse side of two large snaps.
-Perimeter of poncho has 2 rows of topstitching above the belt, and one row of topstitching beneath the belt.

PONCHO COLLAR
-Poncho has a mandarin collar with rows of topstitching.
-Collar closes with a pointed tab, left-over-right with a hidden closure.

Optional:
-Collar closes with (4) snaps.

PONCHO - BACK
-Poncho back is a square, and when it hangs, has the appearance of a reverse U, with the middle hitting just below mid-thigh and the ends reaching just below the knee/mid-calf.
-Poncho back has two rows of topstitching down the middle and one outer row of topstitching.
-Poncho back is the same piece the sleeves. There is no shoulder seam, but a single seam to create 3/4ths of a sleeve, with the armpit area open.

Optional
-Inside of poncho sleeves has 8 rows of topstitching or more.

I'm not fully sure how to coherently write this yet but:

Poncho has a 3 pieced hood, with a large center panel. The hood tucks under the collar, the ends of the hood sit freely on the shoulders in a square shape.

Optional would be to have the greeblies on the left square end of the hood.

[ my images of screen worn hat, previously on display, ]

For the goggles:
-lens is tinted black.

There needs to be a line regarding changing out the existing/factory elastic on the back of them.

To me, the band looked like it was a cotton webbing, rather then an elastic? I imagined that it might have just been tacked on to the hat itself as she never wears the goggles at any point. The goggles have a leather or leather like tab that wraps into the side slots of the goggles and then connects to the strap.

How strict is this going to be with the shape/make of the goggles? It seems that most of the originals have been snapped up already. I have an idea for adding the silver rivet thing, but the actual squared shape with the narrow nose bridge is proving elusive.

Anywhere I should look other than Etsy/Ebay? I live in a beach town with terrible vintage stores. Sad

Have you tried looking for some of the similar brands yet? Mine aren't the SA accurate ones, rather that looks very close. Link to my build thread on the forums for reference. http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=101630&highlight=

I'm not a judge so take this with a grain of salt; I would say that as long as it has a similar shape and scale of the features, ie: lens to the frame, the nose bridge, then it is acceptable.

I have been looking for the related brands as well. I may have found a similar-ish one on ebay; we'll see if I win it and how I can modify it.

I guess I'm just thinking, too, that there are only so many pairs of vintage 70s ski goggles kicking around out there.
