It ain't too much of a secret anymore that I do a bit of sewing for others...
I don't charge for my services (such as they are) because I am not the worlds greatest seamstress....
that being said...
I do have a few projects in my pile that I am working on for others...
the purpose of this thread is to keep track of what progress I am making on the projects of others.
I have two projects that I will be concentrating on in the upcoming weeks/months (aside from helping all new pilots with ejection harnesses, belts, leg flare holders and flak vest mods)...
Ashley McClintock's Endor Commando
and
Steve Szyndrowski's General Lando
so...
I will make two posts below for those two projects and update the post with progress...
Of course...
I have a couple of my own projects...
Artoo (a never ending project)
Endor Hardpack
Naboo Pilot (?) _________________

Ashley's Endor:
Since I can't seem to sleep past 3:00 AM even on the weekends,
I started Ashley's Endor Commando gaiters this morning...
I have all of the pieces cut and found I need a correct color thread...
since I have to go out to Joanne's later...I will pick that up..
I also found that I have a prototype Endor Bandolier ....it is perfectly useable...so ...it is yours Ashley...
it is in the photo below along with the pieces for your gaiters....
You will need to either make or purchase the greeblies to go in it...
Endor Bunker Yahoo Group should give you a link to the guy who has made the Endor donuts....he does offer greeblies from time to time...
EDIT: 8-10-10
Ashley's gaiters are done...
my gaiter is the laced one on the left...
I told Ashley I would sew her gaiters...
BUT...
she had to do the eyelets....lol..
The eyelets are done with a simple tool you get with a package of eyelets from Joannes....they are pretty cheap..

Steve's General Lando...
Here is the list of what we have discussed in the Command Forum as Genral Lando's Costume Standard (since there currently is no standard for that costume).
Black Boots -tall (almost to knee) - low/no heel
Light blue/medium light blue slacks with yellow stripe (bought yellow fabric ribbon)
Light Tan/beige long sleeved collared shirt with a cargo pocket on right sleeve
Tan short vest/overtunic with pleated and pocketed cap sleeve (I have fabric)
Brown belt with octagonal belt buckle
Wrist communicator on a leather/leather like wide wristband..
Required for Formal:
Rank badge (I gave you one of my spares) - done
collar pips
Optional:
Periwinkle (?) cape
Holdout Blaster and shoulder holster
Some reference photos:
Progress is slow on this...but..focus has been on CV....so...things will probably gear up on this project after CV.
I did purchase a quantity of Khaki Trigger which is a close fabric to Crix's Crix Madine.
The reality is....since Lando tucks his "jacket" into his pants...I don't think it will be glaringly evident that the fabric is not exactly the same.
Also...
one of the things that Steve and I discussed was the wrist comm...
one thing I did figure out was the "screen"
After looking at it...one way that one could do the "screen" on the wrist comm is to take plexiglass...spray flat black paint on one side and then scratch the lines with a utility knife into the black paint...
after that...
spray a coat of white to bring out the lines...
I happen to have some transparent plexi if you want to give that a shot...
I think that the actual wrist band should be about 5" wide?
the process seemed to work..
here is a (very sloppy as it was just another prototype) photo of how it came out...
Update 8-9-10
Purchased a spool of a yellow fabric ribbon that will work for the stripe on the pants...
UPDATE: 8-29-10
Well...it ain't much...but I laid out the basic pattern pieces to cut enough off of the bolt of fabric so that I can launder the fabric first...

Augie...
have you any ideas for General Lando's holdout blaster?
From what I can see of the holster and strap....I might be able to do the holster and carrier...
I bought a few old holsters from the vendor at Cyphan...they are in undyed leather...and if I get a 2" strap of leather and put some snaps on it...
I think I can do a reasonable job of the holster and carrier... _________________

Ok....I am behind (as always) but I spent what free time I had over the entire past weekend making two Child's Jedi costumes for our Making Strides Against Breast Cancer event...both cotumes are identical except for belts. I made two child's Jedi belts on Monday and Tuesday. The belt in the photo was donated by one of our Jedi Assembly members.
Anyway...
one of the child's Jedi costumes will be a prize in our team fundraising challenge for MSABC...
and the second child's Jedi costume will be raffled off over the next 2 months also with proceeds going to Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
If anyone is interested in raffle tickets...please PM me...
My MSABC Participation page:
http://main.acsevents.org/site/TR/MakingStridesAgainstBreastCancer/MSABCFY11Illinois?px=1550420&pg=personal&fr_id=28096
Details on the costume.
A size small child's Jedi costume, complete with outer tunic, tabards, obi, cheater undertunic and belt. Small child = about a size 7. This is a uni-sex costume. It looks a little "girly" because it is on a female dress form. The form is also actually too large to show the costume correctly. All pieces are made from fabric that is 100% cotton and has been prewashed.
I will also be adding a robe that was donated by one of our Rebel Legion members.

Between Monday night and yesterday I finished a RFT shirt for Tara Turner...
as in Crix Turner....
I had a spare RFT vest that thankfully fit Tara and had a couple spare shirts to make Tara's RFT bibbed shirt....
Crix and I will be working to get Tara a member of Renegade Squad a little at a time...I look forward to Tara joining our ranks..

THANK YOU DEE! I am torn between Stargate and Star wars...
which one is my favorite changes all the time..
as for the sig..it came out pretty good..It was my first attempt at making one..
I had to use "Paint" and "Photobucket" cause I dont have photoshop,
I've been trying to do some star wars ones..but I cant seem to get it to work like before..IDK..
I think I just got lucky on this one.. _________________
