Ed, I'll bring some to MN with me also. I'm still not 100% I'll be able to troop but I do hope to at least get away and come and meet you guys. Once I get the final schudule I'll know more.

I did recieve most of the stuff for my RFT yesterday but sadly the shirts are the wrong color and the pants are wwwwaaaayyyy to big (I've dropped 35 lbs so far this year) so I'm send them back for a second try.

Awesome, thanks Jeff!

That sucks about the pants, but at least the reason they don't fit is a good one. Congrats!

Yeah, I figured it would be easier to send them back first before tring to have the altered. I also finally got my "vest". Again, much bigger than I thought (I even went down a size when ordering) but I'm happy with it. All thats left to order is the belt, helmet and boots so won't be much longer now.

Cool! The "vest" can be a bit bigger, since it is essentially a vest, heh. Once you get the sleeves off and the edges hemmed back a bit it'll be fine I bet.

Glad to hear it's coming together for you Jeff! Smile

Also, just wanted to let everyone know that I'm working on helping another guy here, Phil, put together an RFT. So, we'll soon have two more Gamma Squad members!

The rebellion is strong in Omaha! Go Gamma! Evil or Very Mad

Mark, I was thinking of stuff the other day. I thought of how I've been wanting to do a charity thing lately and an idea popped into my brain. Could we use this day to raise money? I was thinking of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). I've had students with diabetes and have been impressed how they just kind of deal with it and still excel at life. Anyway, here are my thoughts.

You know how some places hand out little certificates for donations. The people put their names on them and then they get put on the walls of the establishment. I was thinking if we had some RL certificates that say something like "I'm Rebelling against Juvenile Diabetes" with our logo for them to color, etc. This could be done at our recruiting table.

Do you think Dean would be willing to collect the money for us? If not, I could try to get my former student or her parents to collect the money for us. They do a lot of fundraising themselves. Of course, people could donate whatever they felt like, but I was thinking of maybe $1 per certificate.

What do you think?

Thats a awesome Idea Rob!! Even if we can't do it on FCBD, I'm sure we can find someplace to do it at a later date. If Dean does allow it, I'll be even more bummed I can't make it! Sad

Speaking of which, will one of you guys get a few photos signed for me??

Not a bad idea, however I'm not sure Dean would want any of his employees handling the money, especially if its something he's not officially a part of. It would be better in my opinion, granted we get permission to do this, if someone from the charity we choose is able to man the money bucket, so to speak.

We should keep this idea warm though. Even if we cant use it at FCBD we could probably do it at another event, maybe even the Lucia event.

Any one have access to tables? If you've been to FCBD before, you know Dean has tons of comic type guests there too, and I dont want to impose on him for our table.

I have a 6 ft and a 4 ft table if needed. We'll be in MN so for sure won't be using them for anything that weekend.

If we could get both, that would be great, Jeff!

Ed, when will you be able to send down the banner? I'll be out of town the weekend of the 5th, and from 17th to the 21st. I'd rather be here when it arrives to be safe. Let me know!

Also, I've decided to experiment a bit with this event. After the last little inter-legion flap here, John and I decided to co-coordinate this event. He'll handle the 501st side, I'll handle the RL side, and we'll consult each other on everything. Neither group will be "above" the other in anyway. Whats good for one, will be good for both. We hope to set an example and template for future joint events, and show everyone we can indeed work together.
