Greetings from Newfoundland, Canada! I'm working on Jawa outfits for myself and a friend. I know the default is monks cloth for a Jawa, but every local place is sold out and the online stores in Canada charge a LOT for it. I know the RL requirements just say "textured fabric," so I found this heavy cotton locally. I sure hope it is acceptable because I bought 10 metres of it! Fabric is not cheap, as you all know, so I am looking for a ruling from the people in charge as to whether it is acceptable. I asked the Canadian Base about it and they suggested I post here.
Let me know before I dye it!
Thanks.

Hi. Sorry, just noticed this post. I don't think this will work in terms of drape. The fabric appears to stiff in your photos and may not hang right. Is there no outside source that can perhaps ship monks cloth or a similar fabric to you?

Too late! I couldn't wait forever for a reply. Here it is after dyeing and some sewing. The hood is not sewn up yet because I might re-dye it. I used powdered dye and found out later that the liquid is more concentrated, so my finished, washed robes are not the nice reddish brown that I want, but more of a dull brownish tan. Ignore the chalk line on my sleeve.

Also note that my phone camera has an automatic smoothing feature which makes pictures look pretty but which has stripped the texture right out of the fabric. I'll try to get a more true to life photo.
