I'm trying to come up with a plan for the shin and knee guards for my Mara Jade black jumpsuit. I know the standard says that we can use sport or police style shin guards, but after some searching, it looks like there are a ton of possibilities out there. Does anyone have any examples of what is generally acceptable or has been approved in the past (and is available in a pretty small size)? Or a good resource for purchase? Thanks in advance!

The reason that is in the standards is that the model used for photos was wearing sports equipment for the photos.

As to sizing and whatnot that will very depending on the end user, and not knowing your size I'm not sure any recommendation can be given.

Hi there! I got approved as Mara about a month ago and I am definitely no costume/prop maker, haha. I ordered these police-style shin/knee guards:

https://www.galls.com/galls-shin-guards?PMSRCH=shin%20knee

All you'll have to do is cut off the guards that go over the foot. I literally took my basic scissors and cut the elastic. It's not too hard at all!

Best of luck!

We've also had people get approved as Mara with homemade ones made from sintra, so there is a lot of flexibility on that front.

Thanks, everyone! I do like the Galls ones. I've never worked with sintra before, but maybe its about time I start looking into that too!
