Thinking of making a Vice Admiral Amilyn Holdo costume? I've created a database of sources for finding her costume pieces. Check out the viewable database here:

Seriously if every costume type was as detailed as this no one would make a mistake. You rock so much. I am sure this was a ton of work.

Wow.. thank you.. I will check some of these out. I made the ring and snap on ear rings and have someone printing the Tiara and bracelet. The Fabric has been tricky so am ordering swatches like crazy

Here are a selection of swatches that I ordered from Stylish Fabric viewed under natural, indirect light.

As different as the two seem, Mauve 2017 (409 and 406 are different weights of the same color) and 13390 Mauve Pale (not the same shade as 409 Mauve Pale, just to keep us on our toes) seem to be the two closest colors, depending on the lighting and what screenshot you're comparing it too.

This is a comparison between Mauve Pale (upper) and Mauve 2017 (lower) under various artificial lighting conditions.

I ordered some of those as well and agree. I am having trouble deciding due to the changes in the lighting. I did overcaset day and then full sun. I am wondering if the fabrics are too thin, however.
I think the 2013 is very close and sometimes it looks too light and the 406 looks better...

decisions , decisions..

Has anyone tried dying?

I really didn't want to get into another dying project right now. This is supposed to be my 'relaxation' costume. Relatively cheap and easy, and something I can take my time on instead of having a deadline. I like my Mauve 2017, I think it's a very attractive color even if it is slightly not brown enough to be 100% accurate. Here's a large swath of it.

Also, I wrote a tutorial for the collar that I shared on the Admirals in Purple facebook group but I'll share it here too: http://mariannepease.com/vice-admiral-holdo-collar-tutorial/

That is a good choice.. I am not ready to dye either. The last dye job I did took way too many trials even with the formula. I do notice on their swatches that there is a notice that says the color can be different by 25% when the fabric is ordered. That is why I like to get fabric for something like this local and I can see it in different light..

I ordered the 406 Mauve on Wednesday. I think I got in on the last yardage of it, as I understand it is now out of stock until March. I believe they still have the lighter weight (409?) in stock.

I think thinner is better for this dress - considering the weight of the drapes and that it's likely self-lined.

Hi wondering if anyone has information about someone available to make a costume for my lady over here in the UK?

May the force of others be with you!
