Things that are going on now:
- waiting on belt from Meg
- waiting on fabric to cut out and sew the second layer of the dress, and therefore start to complete the dress
- waiting on boots, wig to see if they work/like them
-waiting on hairnets and bobbypins to put on buns (pic is without both, just hair spray)
- need to sew the seams on the first layer of the dress
-maybe make more buns???? |

Made another single bun, need to make another tomorrow to have two pairs, just in case. Also, making uns is frustrating but kind of fun.
Boots came in, snipped off the buckles and snipped the stretch in the back a little wider to accommodate my wide calves.
Wig came in, wouldn't work for me. Sending it back. Ordered another wig, this time the Chibi from arda-wigs.com in Spanish brown. I have to wait to see if the wig color matches the buns I've already made or if I have to make a new set with a new hair color.
Wig:
Color comparing right now, it looks like I might be okay, but I won't know for sure until the wig gets here.
I plan to follow Cosplay Meg's tutorial for handling the base wig and what not.

-make at least one more bun with the hair I still have left over so I have two sets. |

It's looking great so far! I'm sorry your first wig didn't work out. That new wig is a high quality one, so fingers crossed that the buns match. _________________

Definitely try looking for one without a fringe. And get a center part; that will make it easier on you.
Boots looks like they will work without straps and buckles, so in general it looks like things are going well for you. _________________

Hello! I am just working on my first build and don't have a ton of experience, but I did happen to come across this really excellent video recently.
This is of the best I have seen so far for working with synthetic hair extensions for Star Wars hairstyles. I am not sure it would work with a wig as a base, but thought it wouldn't hurt to pass it on!
I found kanekalon hair to be super affordable (like $8 for 6 feet of braiding hair) and there were lots of colors. The ladies at a local beauty supply were able to match to my hair color almost perfectly.

Cheers!

Leia wig is done! Here are some pictures. I followed Meg's tutorial here: https://aminoapps.com/c/cosplay/page/blog/princess-leia-wig-tutorial/bMUo_u8ml5Zm1l1QkDeBbkE0rnjmBr
The wig has a nice, clean part in the back and a slightly messy zig-zag part in the front to take away the bangs.
Still sewing the dress, I'm having to hand sew it because my machine eats it, no matter what needle and foot I try using. It's annoying but I'm getting there. Working on the hems at the bottom and the keyhole. Next is the collar. |

Great to see your progress. Sad to hear your sewing machine trouble; some machines simply doesn't like certain types of fabric. _________________
