I'm not a huge fan of that Etsy listing for the soft parts. It looks thin and chintzy; I can literally see the hem of the OT through the ends of the tabards. You would not be able to put anything on the tabards to help them stay in place, because any velcro or hooks will be highly visible. The fabric of the sleeves and skirt won't have the weight to drape properly, and you won't have many options as far as your trousers because whatever you get will read through the tunic.
I think you want something you can be proud of, not something that cuts corners. This will not look spiffy on anyone, I think.
Is it approvable? Technically, I think it probably would. It doesn't look like it overtly fails any specific criteria, it's just bare minimal. The ideal is that we just stepped off the screen, and it wouldn't surprise me on the other hand if this just takes a pass because it doesn't meet overall quality. |

^^Agreed. The fabric is thin and has no texture/personality. This might be ok for Halloween or a Con, but for RL approval I'd stay away. _________________ James Douthitt

Y'all are killing me here. I was feeling good about this. A reviewer who purchased the set was approved btw. I did do some digging. _________________ “Heeded my words not, did you? I was just approved with a CosplaySky set from Amazon. I was lucky that the fit was really good, but the material was super thin. I got the white version. I dyed it, which took care of the sheerness. Basically, what I'm trying to say is definitely listen to everyone's advice here (they know their stuff), but ultimately the decision is yours. Find what works for you, what fits, and hopefully with a minimal amount of work you can get it approved. |

Had you purchased the darker version, do you think it would still have been sheer? _________________ “Heeded my words not, did you? "Pass on what you have learned." I don't think so, no. There is a Jedi in my base who was approved with the darker version, and it is not sheer. I will say, though, that the belt is not very good. |

What are your thoughts on Calico fabric for the soft parts? _________________ “Heeded my words not, did you? "Pass on what you have learned." One may buy and get approved. Another could be denied. Could be that the approved person did have to make alterations. It's always a risk when buying off the shelf.
As for pants, as long as you don't have the fold that suit pants have, it doesn't really matter.
I suggest having your OT long enough to cover pockets so you have a place for wallet and keys _________________ May the Force be with you. Oh wait, the Force is with me. Tough luck for you. |

Sorry to say, I hope you're ready for a lot of adjusting work.
One of the buyers replied and you can see the OT through the tabbards _________________ May the Force be with you. Oh wait, the Force is with me. Tough luck for you. |

FIRST LOOK:
Just received my costume and I've been working to put the strategic velcro on and figure out this outfit (how the heck does a Jedi move and fight in this thing...dang!) This is not the full outfit...I didn't put on the pouches or boots yet.
I'm ready...Be brutal.

Not to sound like a perv, but can you take a side shot? To see of the OT covers the butt
Also, I fear the sleeves might just fail to meet the length requirements.
I'm pretty sure I could fight in my jedi, both saber and close contact like judo _________________ May the Force be with you. Oh wait, the Force is with me. Tough luck for you. |
