Hi there,

Is there anything wrong with a weathered pilot costume? I’ve done so with my helmet, just checking for the soft parts.

I usually like to dirty up my costumes a bit to give them a more lived in look. Just wanted to ask before I make permanent changes Smile

Thanks. It’ll be a good way to tone down the electric orange Smile

I have weathering on the soft parts of my costume. It helps to bring out the details in photography, though much of the weathering is only visible in person, as the camera flash tends to wash it out.

ive worked on, inside and around aircraft most of my life. I get dirty. Flat dirty. Even Pilots in doing a simple walkaround will get an element of dirt on them just from opening access hatches. Ive worked for airlines for years, and when pilots have to open up a panel to look inside on the pre and post flight, they get whatever is on the panel on their hands. Planes also drip, especially in cruddy weather. When I weathered my Snowspeeder pilot gloves, I went out to my car and worked all around the ngine with them, checking fluid levels, doing my standard tire-nail check and pressure checks. Perfect, natural weathering. For my soft part, I did pretty much the same, getting them filthy with natural weathering. Its also ok to eat soup and let some drip on the flak vest!
