Now looking for ideas regarding the high stepper bases
Adding foam / rubber both for grip and to help with sound of the high steppers
20190529_172348 by dave gilmore, on Flickr
Paper used rubbing a pencil over to get the stepper inner base profile
20190529_172342 by dave gilmore, on Flickr
Seen somewhere some one used wood screwed into base
But would like to keep weight down if possible
Thought about 2 mm ali plate just 1mm inset into base with eva foam attached
I have some rubber along with a eve excersize mat and a sheet of 2mm aluminium
20190317_153801 by dave gilmore, on Flickr
Thought about the aluminium with wings inside to fix too through the high stepper but utilising the car metal clips used on car interiors so the screw has the clip to grip too and hold against the aluminium
Thoughts welcome |

Ok so undersuit taking forever .
Was made bigger to adjust . Hopefully yhe legs will be done on monday .
These have a ski trouser waistband with the braces attached
Ok on the leg but tooooo tight around the high steppers .these have now been made wider . I left the high steppers there and said to make them so a bit looser around the hight steppers and so can easily go over them .plus will loose a percentage of gap as hair is added

Next the jumper . Yes its tooo long . On both the body and arms but this can be easily alterd

Blue line shows where i think the hair needs to hang too .
So basicly raise the jumper around 6 /7 inches
20190723_213059 by dave gilmore, on Flickr
Also needs brought in on the sides

Arms brought in a little and sides still need to come in

So hopefully can start soon .
Any advice ?
Being quite broad im trying to keep the suit as slim as possibly yet not tight as i believe the hair will bring everything in more
Any help or advice be great .
Dont have anyone local to help with what should be where etc so relying on feed back
Thanks

It’s good for trial and error (slow is smooth, smooth is fast) especially when dealing with a project like this; unfortunately height, weight and body issues always come into play. I’m Six Feet tall with wide shoulders (52 inch Chest) , and big arms (18 inch biceps) 42 inch Waist, 27 inch thighs, 18 inch
Calves, but with a lot of sheering and fluffing up Hair in certain points it made up the difference.
Bought a pair High Steppers a few years back (2010), I ended up being Seven Feet, Five Inches ( Have a Duck Mask from 2009, large head), not to mention walking awkwardly with them, (looking like a cross between Frankenstein, and the Iron Giant) So I added 2 inches inside my Demonica (7in, Size 13) Boots and added three inches with a slight flare at the bottom for my Toes.
I’m happy with Standing at 7ft. 1inch. Keep experimenting, your Mesh suit is spot on for what you have going so far, the only suggestion I have is that you hem up from your hands, they look way to long. Never settle for less. Cheers |

Thanks for the reply .
High steppers i am allowing for if needed to remove 2 to 3 inches from the bottom . Depends if this will make a difference or not walking wise .
Id of tried plasterers stilts but no one near me with any .
To be fair the high steppers are fairly narrow so if i ever decided to swap them out for stilts i think with foam padding to bulk them out they could work still
Mesh undersuit will be around 3 inches short of bottom of high steppers
Another test fit tomorrow .
Hands and arm length along with jumper going to be trimmed once its all sitting just right .
Slow and steady ..dont have a choice at the moment |

Ok so trousers are done .
No pics as yet
Now onto jumper
Thin arms a bit more towards wrist
Adding around 4 inch past figer tips
20190812_203803 by dave gilmore, on Flickr
As well as a bit more taken in on the sides .
Any tips with pics showing how when arms are raised . How to stop sleeve rolling up the arm ?
Next is where to have the hair hanging
First pic
Shows
Waist area in blue
Bottom of jumper as is in red .
Dots on knee caps

Thinking
Raise lower line around 6 inches as will have 8 inch hair hanging down.
Also taper in at sides towards centre area

Any advice be great

Bonus.
Trousers are done .
Jumper ready tomorrow
Realy plased with these. Tookna while due to other commitments seamstress had but we got there
Had them a little high but you get the idea 😊
Initially i did say close to the high steppers but deceded they needed to be a little wider .
Talked to paul smith and Jamie and had some great tios and advice so far ( tgey have been great and answered quite a few questions with more to come 😉 ) and agreed they definetly needed widening plus were a pain to gey over the lifts so seamstress added a strip to the side .
These are realy well made
Little extra added in crotch area . Give mkre room when sitting down 😉
Finally fot these and in 2 days going to cornwall for a week ..gutted cant get them done but something to do on holiday wind down
Cant wait to start now
