But wait...if the belt you use to hold up your pants meets the costume requirements, is that OK?

Yes it is.

The challenge is that the belt loops on most BDU and cargo pants are not sized to fit a properly scaled belt. The ones Lori showed are typical pants belts (and quite useful! --I've used ones like that for years), but IMO are not large enough to be a proper RFT belt.

Personally speaking, I've always considered the "gun belt" just a regular utility type belt. The one I use fits perfectly through the belt loops and is very thick/sturdy. It holds my gut back nicely I have to admit *chuckle* I have one of those material ones like they used on Stargate, but sometimes it just doesn't hold very well, so I go back to my Utility belt Smile

Those look like they could work.

You'd need to make sure the lids don't pop off, obviously. Screw or rivet a belt clip on them and I'd say you're good to go.

I only carry one. Mine's an electronics project box.

Tape cassette boxes sanded down, glued together, bondoed just a pinch, and painted silver with a gloss finish. Cool

I used wood. I made blocks from art/project wood. I sanded the edges and corners and sealed the woodgrain with some bondo spot filler. Then primed and painted with aluminum paint. They are light weight, relatively easy and cheap, and anyone can make them. Here's a pic.

3-pack of Italian Military shirts for $20 at Sportsman's Guide. These would work for the RFT but there is more stuff to remove.

However the price is great. Smile

Also on Sportsman's Guide, I found these Dutch Military cargo-style pants:

I was just wondering if these boots would be acceptable or not.

Yep....German jackboots were supposedly what was used on set...
so those look nice...
the ad does not say how tall they are...but they do appear to be in the 13-14" height range...

They usually run pretty narrow....so take that into consideration..

They seem to be a little cheaper, and the service is good.
