Saw this standee pic on YakFace Twitter feed today. Says it's a Mon Cal General from Ep 9.

[edit 10/9/2019]
According to this comic showcased on StarWars.com, it's Aftab, son of Admiral Ackbar.

Title of thread updated for future reference.

The standee image evokes Rogue One pilots a lot for me; It's got the PLCE belt, and the box cargo pockets above the knees, and the pleated sleeve stripes. Plus Y-Wing RotJ and some Ten Nunb with the color of the jumpsuit. Chest box and harnesses seem Resistance era.

To me it looks like a fight suit with mini chaps. Danny Chen has started a full breakdown. Part of the reason I shared the link was for picture references.

Can you post a link to Danny Chen's full breakdown?

Here's what I see. Feel free to refine this by rewriting and discussing how I've interpreted and conveyed the costume items.

Headgear: Accurate Aftab Ackbar mask with communication headset worn on the left side.

Flight suit: Ivory colored flight suit with standing collar, worn open. Pleated stripes down the outside of the sleeves. Cargo loop on left upper arm. Storm flap fly from crotch to neck, opening on the right side. An extra layer of material on the legs gives the appearance of chaps and begins at the hip and curves around the crotch and inner thigh. Chaps extend to the foot and blouse over boots. Chaps have square pockets on the front of the thighs above the knees. The right thigh pocket has a storm flap and the left has none. The shins below the knee each have a box cargo pocket with storm flap cover.

Scarf: Brown scarf worn around the neck and tucked under the flight suit collar.

Flak vest: Flak vest in same color as flight suit extends over shoulders almost to natural waist. Vest curves from base of neck towards center of chest but does not meet in the middle and has a gap. There is a small padded collar. Wide horizontal padded ribs span from collar bone to armpit. 2 inch wide webbing is sewn vertically onto the vest near the armpit and from the bottom of the ribs to the bottom of the vest. The webbing each have rectangular hardware on the bottom, and hardware clips near the bottom which face the center and connect to triangular rings, which are both connected to a strip of fabric that lies in the center of the chest on the bottom edge of the vest and serves as a closure.

The flak vest also has a 2 inch piece of webbing attached vertically on the right side of the padded ribs in alignment with the harness which has a metallic device mounted over huge collarbone. A rectangular transponder is mounted next to the device towards the center of the vest on the padded ribs.

Chest box: An accurately detailed off-white square box is mounted on the center of the chest. There is no apparent strapping or mounting apparatus. A red wire connects to the transponder.

Ejection straps: Ejection straps are integrated as part of the flak vest and are extentions of the vertical webbin. They extend down the front of the thighs to the knees and are sewn at right angles to loops that wrap closely around the knees.

Belt: Khaki or light brown PLCE belt with the loops facing outward and fastened with a roll pin buckle. There is no additional webbing loops sewn to the belt.

Boots: Black mid-calf leather-appearance jackboots or engineer boots with no visible straps or buckles. Low 1" heel.

Just so we are all on the same page here, we will not be creating standards for TROS costumes at this time. There simply are not enough references. I know this character is in the comic, but even there, only one part of four has been released as of now- and most comic book stores don't have physical copies of even that yet.

This costume is also likely to fall under RLSC for it's primary detachment based on the flight suit, and if that is the case, any standards would be created there.

We simply do not have enough information at this time to know whether he will be ours as a primary or as a secondary detachment, let alone costume references.

Kristina,

Thanks for what you said. I agree that a full approvable standard can't be made this early in the game and not with the limited views we have. I did think it would be useful to share with the community to assist early adopters who like costuming the premiere.

I do agree now that I have put this in the wrong detachment, as the costume is clearly of a pilot. I put it here because originally because the initial info I had listed it as a Mon Cal General, but like Gen. Draven, the costume should live with Starfighter Command.

Feel free to move the thread to RLSC.

I think you mean General Merrick from Rogue One because General Draven is not a pilot. He is from Alliance Intelligence.

Yes you are correct. Making all sorts of faux pas on this one.
