Event Summary: Every year the City of Wasilla hosts a community parade and picnic on the 4th of July. The parade began at 11am in downtown Wasilla and was immediately followed by the Mayor's picnic with live music entertainment, a hot dog eating contest, and other games and activities. The Alaskan-based Star Wars groups walked in the Wasilla parade, giving out waves and high fives to everyone along the route. Numerous patrons were lucky to get their photos with various members before they had to walk away for the parade to progress.
