I am thinking of doing a season 4-5 Anakin and need some clarification on some things. What kind of fabric would be recommended for the OT, same as ROTS or would it matter as much since it's an animated version? For the lightsaber would a 3D printed, hand painted one be acceptable as a belt hanger?

The ultimate goal would be to get it approved but I am trying to get something together for a con in early June and will probably try to upgrade parts later on. This is also my first attempt at making a Jedi costume, so we'll see what happens.

[Not a costume judge, consult your local base leadership. My $0.02, YMMV, offer not valid in all states, must be 18 to enter]

Well, comparing the two, it looks like overall Episode III is much darker than Clone Wars. You'd probably do well with the same types of fabrics for the cloth pieces, but the palette is different. The tabards appear to be very matte leather at most, if they're leather at all. f

Compare:

3D printed belt props are okay as far as I know, as long as they're, you know, good. You'll want to make sure the layering lines are sanded down, and the paint is even and properly sealed.

Thanks for the input, and the disclaimer too. Laughing
