A bunch of us are getting together a KotOR II group for Celebration Chicago (and we'd love to have more people if others are interested!) so I'm working on a Kavar costume for my husband to go with my Queen Talia.

He's got a pretty basic robe, though it isn't very full with relatively narrow sleeves.

The hood and front facing are lined with something lighter, but the rest isn't, so I gave it a nice tapered facing along the front edge.

I love how the hood looks. It has a lot of weight and keeps the front open really nicely.

And it looks pretty good on the man himself:

We need to get him a second blue saber, or at least a second static hilt, but he certainly has the hair and face for Kavar.

We're working on the outer tunic right now, with its nonsensical crotch-window, and all that really remains there is to integrate the tabbards.

The tunic, obi, tabbards, and under-tunic dickie are done! The tabbards are a strange combination of anchored directly to the tunic and free floating, but it gets pretty close to Kavar's gravity-defying look.

Here is a fitting test from last night, when I still had to put the collar on the under-tunic:

And here it is all on my dress form, keeping in mind that the dress form is skinnier and curvier than my husband.

The nice thing about the dickie is that it's on a tie around the chest, so we can adjust how close the cross-over is over his chest.

He already has a really nice pair of really pale khaki pants that would go well with this, but they have a fly and a couple of pockets, which would be visible, thanks to the strange cut of the tunic. Would that be a problem?

We got this done in time for Celebration and now it's time to submit!
