I wanted to make this costume since I first saw it on Kievan Mereel research thread in February.
http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=90727&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=15

I have been doing some research the last couple of months and even bought EA/Dice Battlefront 1 so that I could take a closer look because this character is basically a recolored female Endor/Bespin/Tatooine trooper with a modified Hoth/Scarif trooper cap instead of an ERT helmet or DRT helmet.

When I finally found an affordable pair of Palladium boots for about 42 Euros on Amazon.de I jumped at the opportunity and ordered them right away. I usually wear EUR size 37 wide but ordered them in EUR size 39 to make sure that they would fit. They arrived yesterday. Unfortunately, I can barely fit my foot inside because they are too narrow. There is no way that I could walk around with them. I am going to return them today. I thought about ordering them two sizes larger, but the larger sizes cost between 60 and 70 Euros. I cannot afford that right now. Instead, I ordered some desert hiking boots from Decathlon.de. They should arrive on Saturday. I hope that they will fit or this project will not be approvable because my other hiking shoes do not fit the bill.

Here are more reference screen caps. The specialist wears dark brown work gloves that are similar to the gloves that the female BF1 Endor/Bespin/desert trooper wear. The ingame colors are different to the ones of the config screen.

I compared the jacket and gaiter colors of the specialist to the cap color of the heavy trooper and the vest color of the assault trooper. They are white
at the beginning of the game but turn darker during the game because the characters get dirty in the battle.

I found a Youtube clip from a gamer that seems to like the BF2 characters as much as I do because he gave us a 360 view of every rebel. The specialist seems to already have been in the game for a while because she is already a little dirty. Her jacket and gaiter only have some white left. You can clearly see that the boots and the lower part of the gaiters have more dirt on them than the top. You can see every detail of the costume.

I think the body is the same one that the EA/Dice female ERT has. The only things that have changed are the colors, the headgear, and the usable weapons. The specialist can only use the following blaster rifles:

A280-CFE
IQA-11
NT-242
DLT-20A

EA/Dice BF1 ERT

Kudos to the game designers... the artists did a pretty accurate job of capturing accurate details of the photos that are available out there. Right down to putting the ERT spats on backwards, just like they did in the exhibit they photographed for the Costumes of Star Wars book, LOL

Yes, the game designers did a very good job but they did not just copy the existing costumes. They also changed some details which make each Battlefront costume unique. I will go through the differences between the ERT ROTJ and ERT BF1 as well as the RFT ANH and the RFT BF1 at a later time.

Here is a description of the Tatooine Rebel Specialist (TRS). I think that I caught most of the details.

Headgear:
The consists of a cap and goggles. The cap is coyote or medium brown. It has a peak, shield, double crown and two flap shaped fastener in the back. The cap is similar to the Scarif Trooper cap but does not have the ear flap that covers the ears and nape. There is lighter brown strip that separates the speak and the shield. The goggles are a white framed skiing goggles with dark tint and medium brown or dark brown strapping.

Shirt
The shirt is a khaki long or short sleeved shirt with a round collar.

Jacket:
The jacket is white. It has a hood and two slash pockets in the front. The jacket looks very similar to commercial hooded sweat jackets. There are no visible fasteners or drawstrings. It is worn open and tucked into pants and has elastic sleeve cuffs that span from the wrist to mid-forearm. A dark brown greeblie is worn on left breast.

Pants:
The pants are Coyote or medium brown. They have two external front slash pockets and two square external back pockets with flap. There is also one gusset pocket with a flap on the outer side of each leg. It starts about a hand width above the knee and goes about a hand width below the knee

Gaiters/spats:
The gaiters/spats are white and go from the bridge of the foot, angling down on both sides in a curving arc and ending just above the heel in the back. They cover most of the boot laces, continuing up past the boot top, to slightly below mid-calf. There are eyelets and laces in the back. The gaiters/spats have one seam down the middle of the front and one seam down the middle of each side.

Boots:
The boots are tan or khaki combat or hiking boots and are modeled after Sierra Sneaker desert hiking boots. They have a molded sole, with thick “lug” tread and a rubber detail on the toe area.

Gloves:
The gloves are dark brown or black full-finger leather work gloves. They have a pull cord strap for a firm fit at the wrist. It is a lighter shade of brown than the gloves. A dark brown Endor-style communication device with a dark brown strap is worn on the left wrist.

Belt:
The belt is a medium brown or dark brown web belt with dark brown or black rigger's buckle. There is one medium or dark brown cylindrical leather case on the right hip. It looks similar to a leather camera lens case. In the left hip, there are three medium or dark brown square leather pouches.

Backpack:
The backpack is a dark brown canvas two-pocket rucksack. It looks similar to the CZ M60 backpack. It has a dark brown or black hose and dark brown or black greeblies. There are two smaller pockets that are covered with one large flap that bows out over both pockets. The bottom of each shoulder strap is connected to the pack with a large toggle fastener.
The large flap of the main compartment is closed with a large toggle fastener. The two smaller pockets are closed with one small toggle fastener each.

Weapon:
DLT-20A
IQA-11
A280-CFE
NT-242

The desert hiking boots from Decathlon arrived yesterday. I wear EUR size 37 wide so once again I ordered EUR size 39. They fit a little bit better than the Palladium boots did but they are still too narrow for my wide feet. I am going to return them and order a size 41 instead. I hope that those will fit better. The Decathlon boots are darker than the Palladium boots were but I guess I have to take what I can get.

I also received the ordered leather camera lens case. It looks really good when it is by itself but it looks a little small compared to my three ammo pouches. I also have to find a way to make the color of the pouches similar to the one of the case.

Hi Patricia, this is how we made the approach to the leather "camera lens" pouch. We used also a vintage pair, one bigger for me and one smaller for my girlfriend. We added the leather straps and the rivets to make it more "screen accurate". We used the main big strap to also build the belt loop.

The upper part has a small strap that covers the bigger one and enters trough a smaller cut into the lens case cover, is better use a soft leather for this strap, as you can see in the bigger one.

They were brown but we decide to paint them with a more accurate brown as the game used ones.

Maybe it can help you a bit.

Ezogul, your "camera lens" pouches look great. I am also planning on adding leather straps and painting it to look more screen accurate. Unfortunately, mine did not come with any extra strap because of that I have to order some leather. I also have to paint my square pouches because they all have different shades of brown. What type of paint and color did you use for yours?

We used a brown aerosol paint from the brand "molotov" as base and then finished it with darker and lighter browns with airbrush.

It sounds like a lot of work to me but the look of the lens cases seems to make it worth it.

I got an XBOX One and EA/Dice BF2 for Christmas. I used the coop arcade game to collect some reference screencaps. Here are some close-ups from the cap and the round pouch. There are still some sides missing that I will try to collect tomorrow.

Yes, it does. Unfortunately, I do not know the exact type of lens case. I would love to see a photo of the real thing. It was quite difficult to find the vintage leather case that I bought so I think there is no possible way to find the real thing. I will try to add some extra straps to mine and also dye it a darker brown. I also have to dye my square leather pouches because their shade of brown is too light.

The boots in EUR size 41 arrived today. The third time is the charm. They fit well enough to stand and walk around in them. I hope they are comfortable enough to survive an 8-hour event with them. Only time will tell.

I also bought a black rigger belt that I will take apart to get buckle from it.

I am going to write up a CS proposal soon because I would like this costume to become a generic one, but the process of creating a new CS takes very long and I do not know if there is enough interest to make it happen in the first place.

Since my goal is to finish this costume and get it approved by the end of August, I will have to go the face character route mentioned in the Article II: Costuming Standards of the Legions Charter. That means that I will probably have to wear a wig for this costume because I have short hair and all human specialists in the game have a small ponytail. I really do not look forward to wearing a wig. The only other possibility would be to cut my hair even shorter and to put on green make-up to portray the Mirialan. The blue Twi'lek or the Aqualish are out of the question. I could not wear Lekkus without risking a splitting headache and wearing an Aqualish mask is not possible because I wear glasses and have asthma.
