It seems that all my old bookmarked Han Solo costume sources have dried up. I need to get my husband a new Han Solo belt/holster.....who makes them these days? Any leads are appreciated.
Thanks,
Karma

Not sure if he is still doing them or not, but MP makes one of the best ones out there IMO. That is if you do not make it yourself.

He's not.

Which is bad news for Solo costumers.

Which brings me back to the original problem!

Who's the source these days? I refuse to order from costumebase.

I don't think Aston does an exact copy of the Han Solo belt.

Not that he wouldn't be capable, but I don't know if he wants to.

I don't think there is a reliable source for these in leather right now.

I've made my own custom leather stuff. I definitely fit in Lori's catagory of an unreliable source - I'm not that good. If I were, I'd help you out in a heartbeat. Rolling Eyes

you could always get a side of leather and try to make one.

I know my local Tandy leather guy is awesome. If I was unsure on how to make a belt. All I would have to do is head on down there, and bring my pics. I can bet he would be tickled pink to help me make one.
Make friends with your local Leather workers.... you can only benifit from it.

I had my buckles made at a local Midas shop... for 20 bucks.

Hey all - I've been making custom leather goods for a few months now and would love to tackle this. I'm not sure if anyone has seen my work or not, but I have a few people I could likely get to provide feedback to anyone interested.

I go by DSCustoms on the fx.sabers.com boards and I used to be a part of Ultra Sabers. I did custom lightsabers such as the Imperial Knight, Visas Marr and The Bane.

Here are some random pics of stuff I've done.

This was a prototype bracer I played around with... The stitching is real and done by hand.

If anyone can provide detailed reference pics, I'm up for seeing what I could do for the RL.

Yeah mine shipped out Friday so we'll see when it gets here. Looking forward to getting this costume done either way Smile

The buckles change from front to back depending on the movie... so if you make them, try to make them reversable for the guys.

If you need more reference pics... let me know.

LOl. it would cost me more to tool up for leather work that it would be to buy an assembled belt. Razz I can make Jedi belts using rivets and snaps, but I can't sew leather or form it (ie, holster). You know, spending all this time at work really gets in the way of my learning how to do new costuming stuff.
