Working on a blaster and was curious if anyone uses a resin over 3D printed parts? The finish is , well rough for lack of a better term. Any way to smooth it out? |

Hi Shane
i had a LOT going on back in those days and didnt see this until now.
Regarding 3D...I find it to be not only rougher than a corncob three years after the niblets were worn off, but frankly hard to sand.
it also depends on whether you are sanding PlA which isnt plastic at all, or ABS. Sometimes its just as easy to bondo the crud out of it and sand that back, then prime, sand,,,reprime...sand.....
ive worked with resin since the 80s. ive worked with 3D print for two years.
I spend more time working on 3D printed stuff off of home printers that just cannot make anything smooth like we typically get from a good resin cast. _________________ Once I was Dewka, but now I'm just G'nott sH'urr |
