Great helmet pictures Thumper! Added those to my imgur gallery as well. This thread has been very productive so far. Let's keep it up! Does anyone have pictures of the Resistance A-Wing costume on display? Star Wars costumes come to my local museum a lot, I'll get pictures of it if/when it comes through town.

We have decent shots of the vest, straps, boots, and helmet, but need more shots of the jumpsuit (to see what the pocket placement/template generally is), the gloves and the boots.

Right now it seems that the jumpsuit is similar in design to the X-Wing, but different color and different pockets. The vest is the same as the Ground Force/Fleet Crew, different from the Resistance X-Wing, a lot of the hardware on the vest needs to be identified and sourced. The helmet is a different mold than the other Resistance helmets. The gloves are also not the same as Resistance X-Wing. The boots do seem to be the same as the X-Wing.

Noticed that one of the horizontal clasps and the D-Ring on the left shoulder appear to be of this type, fairly typical hardware for US military parachutes and aviation harnesses, STABO rigs and the like:

Speaking of STABO rig, I have a reproduction Vietnam era one, it has similar clasps and D-rings:

Some of the other rings and clasps I'm still trying to find. The left shoulder D-ring and horizontal clasp look to be WWII/Vietnam style though.

For future notice when everyone is making this, all the straps on the vest portion that go into metal hardware are 1 3/4 inch after researching and finding a majority of these pieces

Any chance you can share your findings on the hardware?

The gloves appear to be the same gloves worn by pilots in Rogue One. So far no one has been able to identify the gloves. The few people who have done a Rogue One pilot costume have had their gloves custom made.

I did some googling and elastics from this vendor may be a better bet. It looks like there's a kelly green and a grey available that may be good candidates to overdye. I think you're going to have a lot of trouble removing color from those synthetic blue elastics.

I put together a photodump of what I've been able to identify metal parts wise for the vests HERE along with links to the supplier I got them from in the descriptions, but I'm sure there are other sources out there as well.

Hey all! Denny here from NYC. I just figured out how to upload photos. I've taken some insanely high res photos and took measurements on the Poe NYCC 17 suit.

I also work next to the fabric store that sold the original pilot trim to foodles and did my research.

I think I found something pretty damn close... I just mailed some to Phil Kellar and have a few rolls myself. Let me know if you have any questions.

Denny

Oh I meant the original looking at the notes on the sample card of the knit pleated cotton @ 39.99/yd

That's a great price for the elastic. The company I ordered from in Cali was out of the white so they are sending me khaki and I'll play around to see close I can get with the A-Wing green. Very Happy
