Hey folks, just creating a thread to post images of canon helmets used in the films.

Do we have any other views/photos of these particular helmets?

I'm glad I saved a few before the Msbillen gallery disappeared...

There's also the helmet that was sold at an auction last year, one that's missing the top shield and has a chin strap. It's probably not great for not great for greeblie references, but for some details, maybe...

And...

Yeesh, you're quick, Alex!

Do you have any side/back references for those helmets? (other than the ones you posted) Trying to get an idea of what would the paint scheme look like along the back of the ones I listed in the first post. Confused

Heh, I guess I just happened to be on when you first posted this. Laughing

But no, unfortunately I've never seen any back pictures of an A-wing pilot helmet (or a B-wing pilot helmet, for that matter, excluding the auction helmet that I don't pay much attention to). The first picture I posted is the closest I've seen to a back picture of a movie-used A-wing pilot helmet.

It seems to me that some of the greeblies are in different locations on the various helmets.

Green Leader has a rectangular greeblie on his right mandible (our left) holding the mic. Note the greeblie on his left mandible (our right).

And this pilot doesn't. She has the circular Yamaha piece holding the mic. Her greeblie is different than Green Leader's.

And this pilot is completely lacking any greeblie on the left mandible (from the deleted scenes).

Now thats a lot of pics! Thanks for sharing, Tigerantilles!

From what I´ve learned about the A-wingers I only can say:
There is a lot of variation and personal interpretation possible when doing this costume...

3 different possible helmets (A, Y, X)
-> A-wing helmet with at least 3 greeblie styles!

2 different possible flakvest backs
-> small square with white straps or "closed" vest

...some artistic freedom when creating the chestboxes...

...just choose what you want!

Links are still down. I have an A wing in progress and would love to be able to see these pics.

Anything will help to see the full shape and the greeblies......

Thank Blue. Your B wing album is the best archive out there.
