Unfortunately no, sorry! The display didn't allow for that. I wish he had been able to. Looking at the pictures, comparing, I don't think there's reason to worry about major differences in the back. _________________ Falt, Boston MA

My friend, knowing this, took a bunch of high res pics of The Last Jedi X-Wing costumes with his fancy camera at SDCC. I thought people here would like them (though you all figured things out well from the trailer stills). If you'd like to take a look, they're in a shared file on Google Drive. Don't know how much they'll help, but in any case, they're good for reference

Many thanks for sharing these and thanks especially to your friend for taking them. Great pics! |

Yea you can see in those photos that were shared that the helmet is different, or at least the visor shield is, the holster strap which has been mentioned and you can see the hose connector which is now attached to the leg. You can see it kinda on the poe flight suit but you can really see it on the alien flight suit. |

The hose changed to a much easier to find one as well. Not the one with two different size ribs. |

It seems like the whole costume have been submerged in bleach seeing the jumpsuit being more yellow and gray straps looking bleached. For more distressed look I guess?
Also, Poe's belt looks like it's sewn closed in front and have some blank(not ribbed) strap hanging on the viewer's left. |

Awesome! The thigh strap connection method pics are very helpful. I am going to change mine now. Also noticed the flare holder is lighter gray on this suit. |

New changes I haven't seen mentioned:
* the R leg cargo pocket is more similar, but still different, than the L leg cargo pocket: https://www.flickr.com/photos/dcltdw/37000054336/in/album-72157686563644064/

*I* feel like I owe them brownies now too!! WOW, excellent shots. I've been annoyed I couldn't get around to the right or back side of Jess Pava's suit from TFA, still in the traveling "Power of the Costume" exhibit (about to leave Cincinnati).
That right cargo pocket is crazy... I can't make out what the vertical seam/fabric flap (?) is, but I might have to redo mine now. Note the vertical decorative stitches in the flap, kinda like the horizontal stitches running down the middle of the left pocket.
Everything else checks out with what we know about the TFA suit though, except the gray straps sewn down below the knees are nylon.... Jess' suit has cotton webbing. At least I'm not having to alter the pattern _________________ Generic Clone Wars-era Jedi

I haven't printed one yet, but I just uploaded a variant on my TFA pilot chest box to support the illuminated panels from the teaser trailer:

If anyone wants to give it a go before I do, please let me know -- I won't take the work in progress off until it's actually been built! _________________

If they keep making changes in the next movie I'm just gonna give up and keep what I have. But I might change my hose. Anyone know the exact size? Looks about 1.25 or 1.5 (the old TFA is 1.5) |

Hose is same outside diameter as TFA, it just has that different pattern to it. _________________ Generic Clone Wars-era Jedi

Can anyone confirmed this? I debating whether to go for a TFA or TLJ pilot build and it would be great if a RL judge can confirm that the flightsuit and vest be the same in two! _________________ Never tell me the odds! |

I just PM'd you about this, Maverick
Like I said in the message, as far as I know, the judges have still been making no distinction in the two movie versions of the suit. They are approving both the red-orange and orange nylons. You just have to ask: are you going for the on-camera, more red-orange appearance of the suit, or are you going for what the actual suit looks like in person? I've seen the actual TFA suits in person, and they don't look as red in person, but apparently they used filters on their cameras in TFA. Different lighting in TLJ made them look lighter. But for all intents & purposes, it's the same suit. _________________ Generic Clone Wars-era Jedi
