Just starting out with my Ben cosplay and had some questions to start with...

I've found some instructions on how to make the clothes themselves and will sew it from old sheets first, så i can tweak it to fit and get patterns.
But I can't seem to find tips on what fabric to use... Is Linen and wool OK?

I'm printing my lightsabre with these files https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:111687
Would that be OK? (I know some of you out there doesn't like 3d printed props, but will it pass?)

Making the belt, pouch and hook shouldn't be too much of a problem, but what about the turtleneck?
Do you sew it yourselves and if so, it there any patters available? (And what fabric do you use?)

Thinking about the turtleneck.

Would this model be acceptable (when dyed brown)

The fabric that matches the movie costume is called Silk Tussah, but be careful. You need to be specific about the hand woven weave that needs to be in one direction and bulky with nubs and pulls. Best to get swatches before you commit to buy because pictures can look good but not be what you want when actually in hand. I found my material in a shop in Toronto Canada called King Textiles. They are on line. It was 56 inches wide and gives plenty of material for proper seams. The outer robe in the movie was made of WWII army blankets which you should be able to source at an Army Surplus store. There are tons of Army blankets but I found one that could get me authentic WWII style blankets. I had to dye them to get to the correct color. You may have seen my posts in the tutorial section.

Oh, as far as the inner shirt goes, a long sleeve turtleneck is acceptable but to be accurate to the movie you may need to get a seamstress to make a Cossack style shirt with a collar that fastens on the right side of the neck (no snaps, use hook and eye or Velcro under the overlap in the collar).
