My bet on the goggles is that Lucasfilm's prop team "recycled" the ones Han wore in "The Empire Strikes Back"...

I would agree that Luke, Leia and Lando's goggles are, at the very least, based on those goggles--with added leather and greeblies. But Han's goggles are not the same model, at least in my opinion.

I say that because the welding goggles he wears in ESB have a straight top across the lenses; however, his "Sandstorm" goggles are really just two round lenses with a bridge piece across the nose:

From what I can see, Han's goggles are built off a base that looks more like these:

But again, the exact, particular details of the goggles are not clear. But for overall shape and structure, I would say these are closer to what he wears in the deleted scene.

We'll leave this open for about another week for discussion, and then move on to voting...

you`re welcome, is good to have more costume variation, and those are no so hard to do.

I think having a main Han Solo with the elements common to all for the formal and then have the options be the accesories with the stipulation that elements do not cross over, binders could not be worn with goggles, pike cannot be used with cloak, etc. It is a little like how the myriad of scavenger Reys were handled in doing her standard, a main base costume and then optionals added that are seen together, goggles only if headwrap is present for example.

And like it or not, our charter allows for all things Star Wars as long as there are two reference photos and one is head to toe. If Shaak Ti deleted scene has not been done it is either due to lack of references or no one has shown an interest in doing it.

Either of these Hans would be a good entry level costume so go for it.

I feel BOTH should be added.

Pit of Carkoon- Why add?
1) It is from entirely different scene and movie- ROTJ Carkoon rather than ESB Carbon Freezing Chamber
2) Can be worn to match up with other Sail Barge Characters, like Lando in disquise, etc.
3) No shackles and cuffs
4) Would have to have either the DL-18 or the pike
5) Allows us going for all costumes Han to add this to our repertoire

Sandstorm Han
1) Sandstorm Luke and Leia are already approved to my knowledge
2) Reason 5 above Smile

I agree with this. I don' think the RL needs separate standards for every scene a character appears in.

I cite the example of anakin skywalker AOTC. why is there no "geonosis arena scene" standards? it is really just the same costume, with NO belt accessories (they were taken by the bugs); and with a GREEN clan-hilt lightsaber. following the example of Han Solo, then this would be a separate costume stabndard.

but it's not allowed.

it was deemed "too easy". the jedi judges did NOT want to create an "entry level" version of anakin's costume. the applicant MUST have all belt accessories in order to EVEN 'apply' as anakin (even though, the character doesn't wear them, for ~40% of the film).

^^ either way , we should have consistency across the entire legion.

ie: if anakin II is treated as a single costume with optional accessories on a per-scene basis ... then han solo should ALSO be treated as a single costume with optional accessories on a per-scene basis.

-- (OR) --

if han solo is treated as a myriad of separate costume standards, one for each scene of the movie ... then anakin II should ALSO be treated as a myriad of separate standards, one for each scene of the movie.

this should be decided, on a LEGION WIDE basis.

^^ we need consistency across the Entire Legion, in the way we treat 'face characters'.

the rules should NOT be different for anakin vs. han. (or luke vs han; or whatever).

we should find a way to treat ALL face characters the same, within the same legion.

otherwise our "rules" are inconsistent , and this causes bitterness and confusion.

I would really love to see these costumes added. I intend to try and complete all of Han's costumes from the movie, and especially since the Dutch Base has been dubbed the Dune Sea Base I was already going for the pit of Carkoon version and was surprised that I couldn't find the costume standards on here.

As a matter of fact, looking for them was what led me to this topic.
