I found this online and was wondering if they would be acceptable for a Endor Commando. They of course would have to be dyed

Unfortunately they would not be approvable as is. The gaiters require eyelets and laces and not zippers. The best method for gaiters is either make them yourself with an established template or find someone that can make them for you. My mom made mine using the template in the Endor Commando tutorial. Mountainprincess makes a great pair too. Here's her etsy store: https://www.etsy.com/listing/468160264/endor-rebel-trooper-gaiters.

Thanks for the response. I read somewhere on here that it is looked down upon on using WWII gaiters/leggings. Why is that?

The simple answer is that WWII gaiters aren't screen accurate. The WWII gaiters fit tight to the leg, especially at the ankle. Endor Commando gaiters fit a lot looser in reference photos.

agreed....WWII equipment is completely wrong in style, color and shape. WWII gear is khaki, in all of its various shades. What was available to the film producers at the time was Vietnam and very late Korea era US equipment.

for quick reference here is a page from my own WIP. my gaiters are slanted so they fit properly when laced. You can omit the notch at the back and just make a tube. I wanted to try to keep them from twisting when I walk but that has not been an issue.

Also, unlike real military gaiters which are supposed to keep sand and debris out on a beach landing and during muddy operations , these do not fit tight, and are fairly sitff. They should not scrunch down. Mine are two layers with batting in between, quite stiff and stand up on their own.
