Hello my name is Dave.
I'm currently a new TK with the 501st and was wanting to do a costume for rebel legion as well.
I am interested in a generic jedi or Lanius Qel-Bertuk, or costume inspired by his.
Black and grey instead of the tan/brown

There are links for the images, the internet hates me.

Thanks in advance for your help.
Dave

Congrats on the TK and welcome! Are you looking to order the robes or make them yourself?

I would prefer to make them myself. I am pretty handy with a sewing machine and have a ton of fabric that should work.
I have looked through the tutorials and also have a pattern for a robe that needs very few modifications.
Adding the sleevelets at the shoulder wont be much of an issue for drafting a pattern on the tabbards.
The way the tabbard is, looks to have some skirting around the waist and the length in the front.
I am looking through the forum for anyone else that has used this as a starting point currently.

Hey! You are doing the opposite of my plane, I'm doing my Jedi first because it's way cheaper.

Here is a pattern I am using:

Hope that helps!

I saw that pattern in another post. I dug through my box at home and turns out i already have it. The robe is meh imo. If it is usable i will make one in black.
The pattern does not have the sleeve tuck on the outer tunic. I will post a handy tutorial passed into me by another member so you can benefit from it too for that part.

The tk was a bit pricey, but it is so neat. Lol.

i didn't use that pattern for a robe either, just the tunics. And i'm using it for my kids now, also. The other pieces of teh costume were easy enough to do without a pattern. My robe wasn't long enough for approval, so i've got some work to do on it, but the rest of the costume worked

The robe isnt bad, just too many seems that you dont see on the robes in the films and The hood is too small. I have made one before. I added 4" to the length and the sleeves. It almost touches the ground, and the sleeve length worked fine.

I wasn't able to find a pattern that didn't have seems like that for a robe, and no hoods anywhere near the right size (plus i have a giant head). If you find one, let me know. I may just cut the hood off and try again.

I may go with that pattern.
The hood from that pattern could work if gathered at the neckline before sewing.
The robe in the link has less seems and would be a lot easier to sew

I got the pattern cut for the front and back of the inner and outer tunics, as well as sleeves for the outer tunic. Calling it a night and will work on it again soon.

I got the pattern cut for inner and outer tunics. Then fabric cut for inner tunic. Then sewn along the shoulders. Pinned the arms and called it a night.
