Hello Rebels,

I had already started the process of building a Hangar Tech but after viewing Rogue One I have even more enthusiasm to join the Rebel Legion.

I have a Imperial Mechanical Crew helm kit from WTF which I understand is the same but for the wrong color.

I have an Imperial Crewman so I could use those jackboots, but I think I have some nice, round-toe shoes that will be easier to wear and walk in.

Hmmm, I guess that is all I have on hand.

I see that Wampawear offers a tan flightsuit, but I require a XXL and it doesn't appear they have anything close. So, I plan to get a couple sets from https://www.fullsource.com/red-kap-ct10wh/?chest_size=24&gclid=CNvZi82nvtECFcVWDQodEK4LnA. Either dye a white suit tan or use color remover on a brown. Anyone have suggestions?

I am also going to try to put a hardhat suspension in the helmet. I get hot easily, so I don't want to just line the dome with foam. Anyone ever try this?

I am going through the WIPs looking for a good source for belt and buckle and maybe buy the code cylinders. Are arm tools the same thing as code cylinders?

Thanks for any insight you may have.

My RFT and Imperial Navy both have hardhat suspensions. They work quite well.

wampawear is restocking his suits. They are made in the same factory as regular work suits so its a 12 week production time and he told me he has 300 suits on order. You can Email him to be sure that your size in tan is in the lineup for that.

I have patterns for the suit if you want to do it yourself, but honestly I have not had any luck with dye.

When you say you have Imperial crewman helmet , the Mechanical Crewman ( I was the fourth or fifth to have that costume) is shorter, I have my own molds and had to cut my helmet down. I bougth a real WWII Talker helmet and pulled my mold over it. This is my MC
and my Yavin

I am proposing standards for the R1 Specialist to be different than the classin trilogy Technician since they were visually different in the movies.

While the OT techs were spiffy and clean with low quarter shoes and pants covering the top of the shoe, the R1 techs were grubby (just like me at work I might add....hint hint on my remake) and wore low military boots bloused under the tan coverall. The tan coverall looks the same as the photo evidence of the Hoth tan--so it is quite tan. The belt is what appears to be a British PLCE belt. I got mine in the mail today---it it child size. So I get to figure out how to make it for guys my size. I will post that in the threads here.

The original ANH visual guide to the tech:

and my discussion topic on reworiking the standard for the R1 specialist

I think I will just need to trim a bit to match it up with the YHT helmet line.

I got a 3M hardhat suspension. There is a lot more space between the suspension and the dome, and of course the WTF kit doesn't come with 2M attachemnet points. I am going to try short straps that velcro to the dome so I can adjust it until I know what the right angles and attachment points are.

My Base is running a FO X-wing project, would I be using the same belt and buckle as that project?

as seen in this topic
http://www.forum.rebellegion.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=81720

the belt is the same type used on the R1 pilots, but from what I have seen of the pilots its a different color altogether being a british PLCE belt. I just ordered one and have it in hand. A dark tan or khaki is correct with all of the wierd flat loops.

I will be in the same boat, belt-wise, so I look forward to hearing what you will do. I Sent a quetion to the ebay seller about the sizing but I haven't heard back yet.

I think I have changed my costume direction; will I need to move my WIP to the Rogue One subforum?

if you decide to do the R1 costume yeah it needs to go over there. Chuck can move it for you.

I havent had a chance to do anything but work/sleep/work/sleep.

I get my webbing from Ebay, there is the typical Coyote webbing and some dark earth color webbing I used for my Yavin belt. its just going to be a matter of stitchign all this stuff together, and using a WampaWear belt buckle,...he sells the same buckle and I uusually buy two or three at a time.

Welcome. Glad you are coming on as a Tech, there aren't a lot of us. Looking forward to seeing your progress!

Thanks for the encouraging words!

I just got a PLCE belt in. Not big enough, but I can use the roll-pin buckle and should be able to assemble it from some purchased webbing.

I have the same issue. Mine is the size of what a kid would wear.
