I would like to propose a costume standards revision for the standards that I wrote back in 2008. Originally, these standards were an attempt to incorporate the blind/drunk version of Rahm Kota as well as the Tie factory costume version. In order to differentiate this costume exclusively as the Tie factory version, and in the interest of overall accuracy improvements, I suggest the following revisions.

As always, I do not advocate mandating upgrades for those costumes that are already approved, but rather propose future judging guidelines that are more in line with available visual references as well as considering more readily available props and accessories for this costume such as boots and lightsaber.

Rahm Kota - TIE Factory (Jedi)

REQUIRED ITEMS

  1. Black or dark brown high-crew neck undershirt or equivalent dickey
  2. Dark brown semi-fitted long sleeve tunic with kimono collar and 12-15″ sleeve wrist openings. Fabric may be crinkle or smooth textured and have red to olive tones
  3. Dark grey or black fingerless gloves
  4. Loose-fitting khaki or tan pants, stonewashed cotton or suede leather/ultra suede. Pants should have hidden/no back pockets and diagonal slash front pockets.
  5. Medium to dark brown knee-high weathered leather or pleather boots with 5 cross straps. Qui-Gon style boots with 6-7 cross straps are acceptable.
  6. Dark brown weathered jedi belt with drop-curve in front, no pouches, food caps, or saber clip, and Obi-Wan or Qui-Gon style buckle on thinner overstrap.
  7. Medium to dark brown 3-4″ wide strap armour harness extending from back center of belt line in a "V" up over the shoulders. Can attach to breast plate and/or continue down front to belt line.
  8. Medium brown (red to olive tones) fabric tabards, extending from belt line to just above the knees
  9. Medium brown (red to olive tones) fabric split-cape drapes over shoulders, mid-calf to ankle length in back. 18-24" wide at bottom, tapered or gathered/pleated to go over shoulders. Can either be extension of tabards or separate pieces.
  10. Rigid weathered silver breastplate with belly control-box extending from belt line to mid-upper chest.
  11. Rigid weathered silver shoulder bells extending from slightly above the shoulder to mid upper arm.
  12. Rigid weathered silver wrist gauntlets with narrow box/clip on one side, extending from wrist to mid forearm.
  13. Rigid weathered silver hand guards covering backs of hands.
  14. Dark brown weathered leather bandoleer, slightly narrower than belt, with rectangular buckle at chest level and single flap-closure pouch at belly level, extending from over right shoulder to just above left waist, continuing up the back to the right shoulder. Bandoleer should be contoured to lay flat at left waist, and feature cross-etched lines throughout and a narrow center strap extending from the buckle over shoulder to lightsaber holster on back.
  15. Semi rigid/rigid brown saber holster attached to back of bandoleer. Should feature single leather strap around middle.
  16. Rahm Kota style lightsaber hilt. Can be holstered at back of bandoleer or hand-held. If bladed, must be green blade.
  17. Hair/wig should be of medium length (below ears) or longer with at a minimum silver/grey/white highlights, and pulled in a top-knot high on back of head.
  18. Pointed chin-goatee with at a minimum silver/grey/white highlights.

All elements and features should closely match available visual references.

OPTIONAL ITEMS

  1. Fully silver/white hair/goatee/eyebrows.
  2. Facial scars.
  3. Weathered/frayed/worn cape ends.
  4. Weathered/worn tabards.

Hello everybody,

I hope this is the right place to ask this question...

Lately, I hve been doing a lot of research in order to find three references for a certain Mara Jade costume. I have been communicating with Rebel Legion Members, already wearing this costume, but obviously on informal occasions.

During my investigation, I found three (maybe four as I am still waiting for a book to arrive from the USA) references.
MY QUESTION: These three references show only two different pictures of Mara Jade wearing that costume:

1) an official Star Wars book cover
2) a picture in an official Star Wars book
3) a card in an official Star Wars trading card game
For 2) and 3) it is the same picture...

Would that meet the requirements?

Thank you in advance for your feedback.

Elena

PS: Is Wookiepedia also an accepted source?

Elena The first two sources sound good.

Wookiepeedia itself isn't a valid source but could be used to find some.

The current charter only requires two sources, so you could proceed with that.

Remember also that the sources must show the costume head to toe and 360 degrees...

Since I am approved as formal in this costume, I would like to offer my suggested Standard for it. I have included a basic picture from the Cartel Market screen for the costume as well as the Standards Page style description.

CHARACTER DESCRIPTION

The Jedi Order is the ancient peacekeeping organization of those sensitive to the Force, mainly the light side, dedicated to protecting the Galactic Republic. Its philosophies and objectives are considered the direct opposite to that of the Sith Order.

It is governed by the Jedi Council and led by the Grand Master. Jedi Order activities are officially outside the Senate’s jurisdiction; unofficially, the Jedi Council prefers to be in harmony with the Senate’s wishes, and avoid a threat to their independence from Senate action
