Finished this piece up today. Done in 5mm EVA foam. Seems like only a few reference images of the holsters are available. Best I could tell, Poe's appears to be darker than the webbing on his harness.

7/31/2018 Update: Complete instructions are done and available at:
https://emeraldb.com/2018/02/11/star-wars-tfa-resistance-x-wing-pilot-costume-part-5-glie-44-blaster-holster/
*****************************
1. Combine the (2) template pages here:
https://emeraldb.com/2018/02/11/star-wars-tfa-resistance-x-wing-pilot-costume-part-5-glie-44-blaster-holster/
together as shown and adjust the size to your blaster as needed.
2. Cut the template out of 5mm thick foam
http://www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-Hobbies/Basic-Crafts/Craft-Foam/Black-5mm-Thick-EVA-Foam-Sheet/p/111098
, wrap around blaster, mark, and glue together with contact cement as shown
https://emeraldbdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2016/11/xwing-pilot-holster.jpg
3. Mark and trim the area above the trigger including the open cutout section
4. Cut out and glue on the front strap piece
https://emeraldbdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2016/11/pilot-holster-trim-template.jpg
5. Make a template for the raised trim area by wrapping a sheet of paper around the outside of the holster between the edges of the front strap piece and tracing the outline with a pencil.
6. Mark about 1/2" all the way around this paper template piece, then cut out the middle section. This gives you 1 template for the raised trim (the outside piece) and 1 for the texture (the inside piece)
7. Transfer the raised trim template (the outside piece) you just made to 2mm thick foam and glue it to the holster.
https://emeraldbdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2016/11/holster-texture.jpg
8. Transfer the texture pattern (the inside piece) to some mesh fabric, screen, textured thin foam or whatever you want to use for the texture and glue it on with more contact cement. I used thin mesh fabric I had on hand.
https://emeraldbdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2016/11/pilot-holster-overlays.jpg
9. Spray the entire outside of the holster with PlastiDip. Do not spray the inside, tape the inside off so it does not get coated.
10. Paint with spray paint or acrylic paint, I used acrylics.
11. Glue on your rivets, I used the top half of some 1/4" rivets I had on hand.
https://emeraldbdotcom.files.wordpress.com/2016/11/pilot-holster-strap.jpg
12. Attach a piece of 2" wide webbing for the belt strap using rivets. I used 2 rivets to make the belt loop and 2 to attach to the back of the holster.

Thank you.
Yes, i am currently working on tracing out and scanning in the template and will post it when ready, prob about a week.
I should note I have no idea if this layout / material is RL approvable, but the template should work fine if you want to use another material. |

Good stuff! Thank you for sharing!
I think I'm going to try using thick leather instead of foam on mine... I can still paint the leather and I have a bunch on hand. Might possibly be sturdier than foam... just a thought. _________________ Generic Clone Wars-era Jedi

Hi. The links to your template pages are broken. Could you please update your post?
Thanks
Scott

Since the full detailed instructions to make it will take me some time to complete, I've posted the basic steps for assembly below.
1. Combine these (2) template pages together as shown and adjust the size to your blaster as needed.
https://emeraldb.com/resistance-pilot-holster-template1/
https://emeraldb.com/resistance-pilot-holster-template2/

Hey, I noticed the link for the template is broken too. I tried my best to find the site but couldn’t. BUT, someone on pinterest saved the templates so I did my best to use what I saw to hand draw and then adjust with my blaster to make it fit. Hope this helps!

If you click onto the person’s cosplay board, you can find the second half of the template. |
