So after multiple revisions and test prints I now have something I am happy with.
This was done for a group of guys here in the Eu that required this item.

Without going through all the iterations, this final version has a removable centre piece, that is hollow, to allow for a 9V battery and LED/resistor. The circular greebly has also been removed, such that it could be the button for a push switch also mounted inside the box.
Finally the buttons are all separate pieces to avoid the need to mask each one off, they can now just be painted and glued into the corresponding recesses.

Smile

These last two pics are a quick and dirty primer job.
I dusted a single light coat of 3 diff coloured primers onto the parts to get an idea of finished piece.
Obviously a proper build would required a couple of decent primer coats, sand and paint/clear coat. But you get the idea.
Also I didnt have any green LED's knocking around, so yellow will have to do Wink

Awesome work! How does the hose interface with the box? Is there a circular recess to attach the hose into?

It was suggested on the "Parts of Star Wars" Facebook page that this was the hose used: https://www.facebook.com/PartsofSW/photos/ms.c.eJw9zMcNwDAMA8CNAlXS2n~_xWG7PAwvpiBI1Jqn58bjCwode285jOTVWP7j7aWTbvbZ9SNscz~;PP580yzBIyirb~;4BNhVjxO8TZZ1zH~;oHr2EPbe4xndB~;Hy7ovUD~;ubLas~-.bps.a.773649009424382.1073741851.193037424152213/773651412757475/?type=1&theater

That you could find the hose here: http://hoseworld.com/acatalog/UNREINFORCED_CORRUGATED_RUBBER_RADIATOR_HOSE.html

as Un-reinforced Flexible Radiator Hose for £24.68 ($37.88 USD) per 1 meter (3'3") a bit spendy. It was suggested on the RPF thread here: http://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=237579&page=4

that based on known factors that the hose OD was 31.5mm

There is indeed a recess for the hose. If you look at the first picture you can see a mocked up hose that I have 'plugged in'.
In all subsequent drawings it has been removed.

I am surprised that the OD is considered to be 31.5mm, that doesn't work with the rest of the dimensions, unless of course that is the OD of the ribbed sections.
Working with the measurements I believed to be correct, I calculated to OD of the thinner section to be closer to 20mm, with the OD of the ribs to be approx 31mm.
I built the box to fit someone of my build (5'11", 40'chest - which i think is about 'average'), comparing that to the front on pics i found online.
I think I read on the RPF forum that the measurements where estimated at 4.75" x 5.75".

having plugged these dims into the 3D software i used i felt they were a bit over sized, so my box is 145mm x 110mm (4.33" x 5.7")[/b][/u]

For some reason I cant edit my previous post?

Anyhow, I believe that the hose you posted is incorrect.
A more accurate one is this.

Same company, but more expensive at £31+ per m.

Notice the extra ridge sections between the ribs

I built the 3d model for a small group of guys over here in the UK, they have paid me £25 each for an unfinished printed kit.
Happy to sell more ( this was not a commission, just a favour for a friend).
Not sure what shipping to the USA would be if this is still of interest to you.

As a handful are interested in this kit, I have created a dropbox folder in which I am going to be adding (ultimately);

Build instructions.
Ordering instructions.
a list of all that have ordered, with status etc (completed, paid, shipped).

here is the link, it should be set as open to all.
Please PM me if this isn't working for you.

thanks guys
