Personally, I have no issue with glasses on for approval photos, and actually prefer them to be on if that's how the costume is to be trooped.
My wife will not take photos or troop in her glasses. It's her personal preference to wear contacts because of the look. I realize not everyone will have this option, but should we encourage this, or just leave that topic completely open? _________________

Maybe something along the line of "People wearing glasses are encouraged to use contact lenses while in costume, but we recognice that this is not possible for everyone, and we leave it up to the costumer to make their own decision." ? _________________ Out of my mind. Back in 5 minutes. |

How about not making an issue of it at all?
In the photo requirements we can say "No sunglasses, but prescription glasses are allowed." and leave it at that. |

Applicants should not wear eyeglasses in their profile pictures. Understandably, people need to wear them to see, I do it myself, but not in the formal profile pictures. They shouldn't be wearing earth-style jewelery, either, especially wedding rings. |
Really? I don't see a problem with people wearing something in their profile picture that they will ALWAYS wear at troops? Why not let the picture be a representation of what we will see out there?
Also, I know of at least a few people that literally cannot get their wedding bands off....
I really don't think we should be that nit-picky o_O |
I agree |

I agree that we are not so punctilious in the matter of the glasses. And it's very important as they are prescribed by a doctor.
Regarding rings, necklaces, watches, etc ... is another matter. That would not look good in a Jedi.

I took "Note: Eye-wear and wedding rings should not be worn for application pictures." out of my comparison.
Ultimately, I think that'll come down to how the LMO wants to handle these issues from a high level. _________________

but when the standards says that accessories can include jewellery, I really don't think we should make an issue out of people's wedding bands? _________________

Do we really want to reject a costume because the person is wearing a ring? _________________ Out of my mind. Back in 5 minutes. |

My interpretation is that the point at the end of the tabard would be allowed, but the single tabard below the belt would not. We removed this line from the current standard.
Quote: | A single front tabard, centrally located (covering the crotch area) is permitted. |
As to the "tabard(s)" term, I take this to imply the singular for a scarf style tabard. _________________

Hello Mara!
Very good observation.
We propose the new standard, it is not to accept the type of tabard-style Luminara Unduli and Ahsoka Tano
But the kind of Tabard Y, does not seem bad. What's more, we could add as an alternative more

I guess the next question is: Is there reference for this Y-shaped tabard with only a single extension below the belt? _________________

I'd really love to see the Y shaped tabbard still being permitted. I think it is a rather nice style, and still very jedi in its look. _________________

I certainly hope we don't allow it. This is the single below the belt tabard we already argued about and said no to. It isn't supported by any references I can find. If we're going to do this, why are we even discussing a change?
Of course, in spite of asking what we're really aiming for here, none of the leadership has said a word in answer, so we're just floundering around with no real idea of direction. So, I'll ask again. s the leadership and LCJHs planning on multiple standards for Jedi or are we doing one generic standard that tries to cover everything? |
