x-wing pilot boot question

I have both for several costumes, but i am just getting everything out of storage after 7 years, do the x-wing pilots typically wear the "Han solo height boots" or the shorter jack boots like the "rebel blockade troopers"? Thanks for the help

The shorter jack boots. (11 to 13 inches tall)
