Hi Glen.

Welcome to the gang. Have just finished my first costume today. Good luck with your pilot. I'm sure you'll get lots of tips and suggestions from everyone, they were really great for me.

Cheers, Sair

Hi! Welcome to the forums.

I'm one of our pilots so any help you need feel free to ask. I'm also fairly close to you (about an hour to Wyong) so can help if you do need any assistance.

As for pieces there are many options. Mark Dickson down in Hoth Base does a great set of metal bits for the pilot, so your leg flares and mini flares but I have no idea on the cost I'm sorry. There is also the option of making them from wood and painting them if you need a cheaper option and depending on your talent level Smile

My suit is a Mon Cal but you can also buy and modify a Bisley orange jumpsuit which is not overly expensive.

Webbing can be picked up pretty easily but a tip I was given was to try local wreckers. It's illegal to sell seatbelt webbing from wrecked cars but as long as you are clear you are using it for a costume and not another car many will let you take the old belts out for free or minimal charge. It's a handy way to get all your webbing for the harnesses.

Gloves I purchased from a seller on here in the costume sale section. I'm glad I spent the cash on them, they are a nice set and comfortable to wear.

A lot of people are going with 3D printed compads too. They aren't overly expensive and are easy to paint up.

Hopefully that gives you a good starting point Smile Like I said I'm not overly far from you so if you do need help please be sure to ask. That's what we are here for.
