Here is a tuto to build your own scratch built legflare holder :

1/ Building the main strap

Use a single 4" (10cm) strap, in olive drab or black color.
Long enough to loop around the top of the boot.

Use another 2" strap to do the holders.

NB : You can use several straps. Sew it togheter to have one at the right size.
(I use two colors there to make it clearer)

2/ Calculating and allocating the place of the 8 flares :

Exemple : the top of my boot is 44cm or 440mm (17" 1/3) the diameter of my flares is 2,1 cm or 21mm (0.82")

Strap lenght (S) = 440mm.
Flare diameter +1mm of ease (D) = 22mm
Length to distribute (L) = S - (8xD) = 264mm
Length for velcro (V) : 25mm (1") at each end so 50mm (2")
Avalaible lenght beetwen each flares (A) : (L-V)/7 = 30,5mm rounded to 30mm.

so re-calculate now the Full Lenght (F) needed to allocating all the flares :
(8xD) + (7xA) = (8x22) + (7x30) = 386mm

Lenght to reserve on the extremity : (S-T)/2 = (440-386)/2 = 27mm.

3/ Use a paper scotch to draw the distribution on the strap

4 / Sew the start of the center strap. Place a flare, it will help you to calculate the full length of a flare holder.
(with my exemple I found 57mm)

5/ Sew the first gap. Then check the flare fits.

6/ Repat for the second, then the third, ... until the last one.

A guidance : do it flare by flare to be more precise Wink

7/ Sew one velcro part at one end on the outer side

8/ Sew a perpendicular piece of 2" strap half on the outer side of the main strap.

9/ On this piece, sew the second velcro part on the inner side

10/ remove the paper scotch and you've got your legflare holder.

11/ A last little thing Wink

to keep the legflare hoder at the top of the boot, I use two clips "canibalised" on measuring tapes

and screw it on flares at the back :
