The blanket on Sportskids looks like a pretty good match but it's way expensive. The British Grey Wool Blanket looks like it might be a good match, too, though I can't exactly tell if it has the bits of color. I think that I bought mine here, but it might have been here, I can't remember which it was (or if it might have been another). I'll check my packing slip and see what company it was.
The blankets look red in the pictures but they're really not that red, I'm not sure why the pictures look like that. _________________ B-wing Pilot - Jedi - Resistance X-wing Pilot - Temmin "Snap" Wexley

I've also spotted this on Amazon UK which looks close to the ones you've suggested, Alex? (Would save on importing/Customs if it looks ok!) _________________ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

About a month ago i was finding a lot of disaster blankets online, however the reviews said they were intended for short term use, being essentially pressed lint.
The sportskids blanket is 60x80", pretty decent size. Should be ableto get at least one , maybe one and a half vests out of that. _________________ Once I was Dewka, but now I'm just G'nott sH'urr

The color is similar but it looks like that blanket doesn't have the bits of colors fibers other than white.
I believe it's a disaster relief blanket that I have. I do remember that it's supposedly fireproof, if that helps... I had made jokes about it saying that if I was ever in a fire while in the costume, I would die but my flak vest would survive.
My blankets look similar to the picture below, though I didn't buy them from this company. Sorry, I forgot to look for my packing slip... I'll be sure to look for it tomorrow.

I saw similar reviews, including a review that said the blankets smelled like gasoline, and that they fell apart pretty easily... I don't know, the ones I bought seem to be pretty sturdy and don't smell like gasoline. Granted I haven't done any heavy stress tests with them, but when I tug on them they don't rip apart or anything. And they definitely don't have a foul order to them... So I'm not sure what the reviewer was talking about. One way to increase the durability, though, is to put some interfacing on the back...
The last vest I made was actually made out of felt that could be pulled apart fairly easily just by tugging on it, but I put some interfacing on the back and it's stayed together very well without any rips or tears. _________________ B-wing Pilot - Jedi - Resistance X-wing Pilot - Temmin "Snap" Wexley

So I definitely got my blankets at Chief Supply... http://www.chiefsupply.com/northwest-woolen-mills-wool-humanitarian-emergency-relief-blanket-5-1-5-x-6-2-3-gray.html
But you could probably find some locally by just searching for "disaster relief blankets", or something similar. Jon had mentioned moving blankets from U-haul as well... I haven't seen any in person myself so I can't say exactly what they look like, but I did do a Google search and what pictures I saw, it seems that they look almost identical to the disaster relief blankets, but maybe a little bit thinner, and obviously without the fireproofing and stuff. _________________ B-wing Pilot - Jedi - Resistance X-wing Pilot - Temmin "Snap" Wexley
