i am asking in behalf of a friend whose english is non existing:

he would like to build a blue senat commander and the questions are:
- has anyone done this before or does anyone know anybody who has done this or is just building one?
- re the helmet: what are the main differences for example to a standard clone helmet and if i take a clone helmet as a base what has to be changed?
- re the armor what parts can i use from any already existing other armor and which are (totally) different
as i just want to help a mate please be patient, as i only know senat commanders as lego figure which does not realy count how the figure realy looks, but we are happy about ANY input for this project!
thanks from austria
florian

ps i first asked at the clones of the republic and they toldme that here is a better place to ask!

Sorry for being so long on replying to this one. I haven't heard of anyone doing this project, but I am excited about this prospect! It is a costume I would love to see done.

Do you mean these guys?

I'm no expert on clones, but a lot of those pieces look a lot like something you'd see in clone armor like Cody's here.

You would probably have to alter a helmet or make it from scratch, as that is rather unique in the Star Wars universe. It is half way between a clone helmet and the senate guard helmets. The other major difference is the huge shoulder pad on the left shoulder. That is something you could have someone pull for you, or you could make it yourself.

As someone who is hoping to build some armor from scratch some time in the next couple of years, I have been collecting tutorials on that sort of thing. My favorite source for armor tutorials actually has stuff in German as well, if you check out her ebook selection: web site and facebook feed. She has a lot of resources in both places on both armoring and helmets.
